That Sailor Moon conversation was painful to listen to. I didn't watch it growing up so a few years ago I tried watching it to see what all the fuss was about... no. Just no. The amount of condescension and bullying from all the other characters towards the main character was just unhealthy. I have zero interest in supporting a show where every character, in every episode, is telling the main character they're too stupid so they should stay home and let the others do all the fighting. I forget how far into the show I got, but the lack of character development, as far as I did get, does not a good show make.

Well, then, you're probably in the minority because it's still widely beloved to this day and the production cels or sketches sell for hundreds or thousands of dollars apiece. It's totally okay not to like it and your disliking is valid, don't get me wrong.

@@NatYourAverageNerd Of course it's widely loved. It was the childhood for many people and there was even a new show that was produced a few years ago. When you see a show with one episode a week it's easy to overlook certain context and behaviors embedded in the writing, especially if you're a child. The design and merchandise value also has little to do with the writing. My issue with and distaste for the show is purely the writing and I think that was very clear in my comment. No need to bring in non-writing examples as an excuse for why you think otherwise.
