Just watched the whole season 2 in one go and I have to say that the way those people from the council decided to persecute Jeremy is nothing short of shameful. It's just retaliatory action after retaliatory action disguised as concerns over their dubious quality of life. They seem to be extremely selfish by conveniently ignoring the need for Clarkson's restaurant to be open and running as a form to help the neighboring farmers who are in dire straits. It breaks my heart to see how their wealth envy and hatred towards Jeremy ends up worsening those farmers' lives. There's way too much government intrusion in England, especially from those little nobodies, members of all those pathetic local councils.

As someone who was raised in a rural area, the thought of someone trying to sue another for uneven ground is so mind boggling. Do people not understand that everywhere outside of a city, suburb or large town is uneven ground? You would have to live the most coddled life to think this is a appropriate action.

The hilarious thing about the council folk is if anyone is paying attention to political changes happening all over the world - folk in general have had it to their earlobes with bureaucrats be it power hungry council folk or heads of state. They prance about dictating the rules of their kingdoms but the day is coming soon when with pitch forks or with the sheer number of awaken folk acting as one - they will be kicked out on their asses - and what a beautiful sight it will be. So many folk holding council positions are not interested in listening to their communities but more interested in what their masters higher up have to say and what kick backs they are getting . This TV Show, just gave us all a glimpse into the corruption and self serving side of such controlling bodies and how the perception of power had squash any rebellion or common sense. Jeremy Clarkson's show high lights the plight of farmers and how they are tightly controlled from the price of their produce, to what must be sprayed on crops, even needing a permit or certificate to dispose of dirt that was dug up on your property as it was deemed waste - that was a mind blowing episode . The head council members gave no thought to the struggles of the neighbouring farmers as the meeting held with Clarkson demonstrated - all of them were hanging on by their finger nails and the council gave not moment of thought to their struggles. The Dairy lady having to put down 60 cows because of Tuberculosis - its odd humans are tested for TB and when diagnosed positive are treated with antibiotics - we don't put people down - so in a world where apparently we can develop hi tech jabs called MRNA - why are we killing cows for TB? could it be there is more money to be made by the governing bodies , and another means to drive farmers into the ground and make people even more depended on govt hand out? So many things are fishy and smell of corruption and back hand dealings. It would serve this council if all the struggling farmers all joined forces and made their land one large land parcel and sold it to land developers - these guys have lawyers constantly on their books and wouldn't bat and eyelid at the cost the plough the council into the ground - then where their light pollution be. Some folk just need a healthy helping of their own BS. As for the woman - it makes you wonder if it was all put up to either cause more trouble for Clarkson for his audacity to say such unwelcomed things or for actually trying to highlight the struggle of farmers .

The area around Clarksons farm is an area of outstanding natural beauty, so they MUST stop people going there and spoiling the view for the people who live there. Why do people not understand that these people bought houses there so that only THEY have the chance to see this natural beauty. The general public MUST be kept away from the area, or it will not be an area of outstanding natural beauty since there will be people there spoiling the view of the land. People MUST be kept off the land or it will wear out. Farming must be stopped as it can damage the ground and even cause some people to try to put small stones on the ground to drive on, this cannot happen as it will spoil the natural beauty. ( this is sarcasm in case you are not aware )

I dont see it as sarcasm, i completely agree. Now lets calculate the fair value of that outstanding natural beauty, add costs of keeping it that way and charge these local people for the privilege of using it : ) Its amazing how quickly people change stances when they're the one who have to bear the costs not some third party society or government.

Non farmer but loved the show , binge watched season 2 and strangely could watch this indefinitely. Its wholseome entainment , hilarious, and emotional but tells a story on many levels be it the plight of the poor farmers trying to make a living in an impossible market or the blatant persecution clarkson is unfairly experiencing with over zealous local authorities trying to deliberately hamper any enterprise he engages in to try to turn a profit. It was quite a moment when fir all the fame fast cars and exotic islands and destinations...hes never felt more at home than walking around his farm tending to his animals. Also Jeremy, should try to get into contact with University of Tennessee...the reason being that UT has experiment farms in different locations in the state. They have so many things they are doing. 1 is growing greenhouse tomatoes. They grow the tomatoes upside down. In coconut soil. There is a large amount of produce and it's done 3-4 times a year.

it’s funny how the chairman of the council voted on the scheme and his hand shot up so fast. I wonder how much brow beating was done before hand. (Check out S2 Clarksons farm) I was under the impression the chairman didn’t get a vote unless it was a tie. He’s supposed to be neutral as he can hold a certain power over those under him. As for Jeremy wanting a theme park what a load of Rocky Mountain oysters. For Gods sake can’t those numb nuts see the change in him how he’s trying to show how the farmers are getting screwed from pillar to post and then stomped on for the hell of it. As for that council meeting what a load of total oxygen wasters. They probably put the milk lady out of business but what the hell it’s only a friend of Clarksons isn’t it. I wonder if jeremy now has the same molecular dream about the council of Oxfordshire. I can understand his frustration with them. I do have one question if jeremy was to cease all production let his farm go over to ruin but just own it all they could do is hit him with red tape. While he could simply ignore them, tie them up in red tape with a decent lawyer and make them spend there precious recourses on legal fees. Who could blame him and if they try to lock him up. He could go farm any other country other than here where they would probably love him as it would help where ever he is with much needed jobs, infrastructure and publicity as to what areas and people need help. As for the trespasser it’s a farm if you go on his land with no permission you have no write to recourse if you get hurt. If it’s a bruise to her leg. It could just as easily be explained by her hitting her leg on the vehicle she travelled there in. I’m unsure about your video as I’m trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and believe your trying to be a little objective. If your not then sorry I’ll be happy to carry on past and not look back, if you are I’ll maybe check out 1 or 2 more vids.

Sorry to be so blunt but it is a catastrophe what the council over there is doing with him and his plans. Obviously he is/was no farmer (yet) but he is trying hard and learning as you can see. I'm not judging anything going on in the UK and don't know about prices etc. but he doesn't seem like a person to neglect or ignore normal peoples' issues. In the EU there are so many programs and what not and they are throwing so much money at weird projects to develop rural areas. There you have an incarnated motor for the economy local farmers can benefit from, and those responsible are being ignorant. Whereas on the other hand he would be happy and willing to let struggling farmers have a share. Plus: If all the farmers he is trying to support are giving up and stop farming you may sure import all the food you need but the council's countryside will not remain the same. It's ridiculous.

Food prices should be sufficient to pay all the people who help make it and get it to your table. But if wages remain stagnant, people wouldn't be able to afford it, so instead of increasing wages they reduce what farmers can earn to keep their farms running.

If Jeremy Clarkson gets a restaurant passed in the middle of a field in the countryside then how many others will try to do the same?If everyone could just build what they like in the countryside then there wouldn't be a countryside. Why doesn't he apply for it beside his house where there are already lots of buildings and wouldn't have any impact on the natural beauty of the land. Would you all be so sympathetic if it wasn't a celebrity? Whilst Clarkson's farm is entertaining Jeremy Clarkson is a person who thinks he can have everything his own way, He attacks the very person who is keeping farming alive and asking for them to pay more for food rather than attacking Super Supermarkets for being the real cause for Farmers being poorly paid for their produce. Supermarkets waste much more food than the shopper and still boast astronomical profits.

Its his 'class' of people who caused food to become unaffordable in the first place. The only reason these celebrities are interested in living on farms now, is because they see money coming in it. NOOWW THEY want to be paid faily, while running every small farm left out of business.
