I've just signed up as a full member of the Labour party. Not just because of Jeremy, but because of the diverse kinds of people he attracts and the collectiveness I have experienced amongst them. So I'd like to thank the PEOPLE and Jeremy for bringing me back.

Welcome to the family Sophia, a new comrade is always welcome, I'm not sure what the other chap is saying, I have raised unpopular points of view and respected unpopular points of view at CLP meetings before, we are a broad church politically and will remain so, make sure you get in contact with your membership secretary and get yourself involved; one of the most satisfying things I've ever experienced was when I was sat outside a polling station on a cold rainy day, drinking a cup of tea kindly supplied by polling staff with my rosette and red skiing jacket on, and a gentleman and his family emerged from the polling station who I had a chat with prior to him going in and him telling me (I'm there to ask who he voted for for statistics) "I voted labour and so did they because of you". Maybe it's because I'm a bit of a loser but it was kind of satisfaction I thoroughly enjoyed which you don't get anywhere else!

There's no doubt he means well and is a decent human being. But a lot of what he says, while based on decent principles, doesn't stand up to scrutiny. For example, he says he is pro entrepreneur but anti-investor. But entrepreneurs are nothing without investors, they work hand in hand.

No, Labour’s defeat is not a condemnation of LEFT politics. Their policies did not change since they had their meteoric rise, when Jeremy took over Labour. The most massive rise in popularity since the beginning of polling. Only two things have changed: The massive media campaign against Jeremy. And the change in Labour’s stance on Brexit. That stance was forced on Jeremy, due to the split party. Right wing Blairites still exist in the party. The policies are popular. And they did not change. And the SNP gained massive support. Massive. And they have many of the same policies. Leftist policies. Such massive support that they may leave the UK. People like them. As demonstrated world wide, by protests FOR policies just like these. People don’t want the world as they know it to be destroyed, leaving nothing but disaster for their kids. Now, here’s the thing: The media outlets are all owned by billionaires. Some of them are socially conservative, some are socially liberal. But all of them are economically conservative. Right wing neoliberal. Like the Tories, and like the Blair Labour party. Left-Leaning polices cut into their profits. They don’t want that. That’s how you know it’s propaganda. When the people asked cannot tell you why, cannot tell you their logic chain that lead them to think [X]. And propaganda works. We all know it. It worked during the war, it works in the advertising field. So what do you think is going to happen when all the mainstream media channels are owned by billionaires? Gonna tell me that magically, after decades of refinement, propaganda suddenly stopped working? So no, it’s not the policies. It’s the smears, it’s Labour’s waffling on Brexit, it’s the split party, and it’s a weakness in Jeremy’s leadership. And I say this as someone who fucking loves Jeremy. Though I have my suspicions that he played everyone, by dumping Brexit in the hands of a Tory majority, with no one to blame for the coming disaster. It could destroy the Tories, it really could.
