I didn’t know much about Doku when he came to City, but that all changed when he first came on the field - wow. To add that positive impression, when Doku attempted to push a downed player wasting time off the pitch (can’t remember which game, NewCastle perhaps) so we could get started, well, I was totally sold on him. What a boss move! If he can stay healthy & work on his finishing and decision-making under Pep, he has the potential to be top 5 wingers (plays both RW and LW so not sure which) in Europe

James didn't need help against doku, he needed help against doku and Bernardo Silva. Stevie Wonder could see that was the way pep set them up to play. Palmer was tasked with tracking back and accompanying Reece but he didnt do that good of a job helping. Reece basically pocketed both Silva and doku on his own with a little help from Palmer. The fact that doku got so frustrated he ended up diving and getting a yellow for it is all the proof you need. Palmer was actually so ineffective helping Reece that poch even swapped him with Gallagher. And from the second half, city never even got a sniff in from the side once Reece actually had some help.

this might sound bad, but i dont believe the hype.. for 3 reasons.. he doesnt make great decisions when hes not running at a defenders therefore he theres a limit on how much he can contribute.. he makes decent decisions when running at defender but thats because a lot of the time the decisions are pre determined.. second, he tends to be tunnel vision and he says it himself at the beginning of this video and a team with a good coach will salivate at this weakness.. 3rd, when a fullback who is comparatively fast as him, he tends to struggle a bit.. especially when that defender is disciplined enough to not dive in
