This is such a good example of classic musical standards vs. contemporary, modern musical theater. Both are beautiful and well done in their own ways, but you’d never find the classical, warm style of the original iconic golden age number written into anything in today’s broadway shows, whereas this version is exactly the feel most composers look toward now and what current up and coming generation is interested. It’s crazy how much the art form can change over the years, for better AND for worse.

The title is R AND H goes pop, i feel that means it’s gonna be remade into a pop song which is why it doesn’t sound like the original.
