He was basically profiled, because of being Asian. Many critics will deny that. The same thing happened when he was in high school, he did not even get any scholarships when he became the top highschool player in Northern California at one point, 2006 iirc, which you can also google. The Houston Rockets organization passed up on him when he was being scouted, even when Jeremy had some of the highest metrics as a rookie. But after Linsanity was born, Houston was asked again & they said they didn't have an answer as to why they passed up on him, regretting not to have taken him in. I did not like how Houston got him back after Linsanity in NY. I had wished that Jeremy waited for another offer from another team, even if the offer was lower, because I felt that Houston did not deserve him anyway for passing up on him in the first place. And looked what happened there anyway, he got bumped off as the top guard so that Harden could basically replace him & then he eventually got traded again... to a worse team, the LA Lakers of that time. Lin has recently posted a 50-point high game in Taiwan where he currently plays. 09/22/23
