Well, I've been watching the NBA since the late 70's, never heard of the dude until the Sixers signed him. Most people don't stumble across KZbin channels featuring high school ballers like this one. I honestly don't care about players in any sport until they reach the pro level. The worst player on any pro sports team was the best player on every other team he ever played on. I'm glad my Sixers got him though for sure.

They don't have all stars in the dunk contest very often. It's usually solid starters who are very athletic and young. All stars used to be in the dunk contest all the time back in the 80s and 90s but not so much anymore. Vince Carter was around the last of the era of superstars being in the contest. Lebron, Westbrook and a lot of other guys have dodged it for years. Bron teased that he might but never did.

I think some of them are in game dunkers and maybe can't get too creative in a contest. If Ja Morant never ends up participating in a dunk contest it would be a slap in the face to the contest if the leagues most athletic stars won't participate.
