Being good at 'doing' is totally different from being good at 'teaching'. Thanks so much for making this series. Will you make more courses in future? Jeremy, how do you get the SNMP agents pushed or installed on switches? and how do the agents communicate with the manager?
@JeremysITLab2 жыл бұрын
Cisco switches support SNMP by default, no need to install it (just like you don't need to install spanning-tree protocol or other protocols on it). It communicates with the manager by sending SNMP message to it from the switch's management IP address (covered in Day 42).
@bobdavislumbro40472 жыл бұрын
@@JeremysITLab you mentioned agents on the managed device, so could be misinterpreted the NMS like solar winds would be connected to the switch like on the lab ?
@JeremysITLab2 жыл бұрын
@@bobdavislumbro4047 Yeah the SNMP Agent is on the managed device. The NMS is communicated with over the network. It can be directly connected or not, it doesn't matter.

Hi Jeremy! Can you advise in the best use of ankie flash cards as a daily review ? like how many times a day and how many days per week study the flash cards and the order per topic, like if you are currently on SNMP would it be recommended to study flash cards from previews chapters like HSRP ? just to give an example...
@JeremysITLab3 жыл бұрын
I combine all of the flash cards into a single deck, and then just let the Anki algorithm do the work, simply doing all of the scheduled reviews for the day. I usually do them on the train, or while I drink my morning coffee if I'm working from home.
