Riding starts at 9:10 if you want to skip the knowledge and just watch bikes... however i suggest you listen to Steve.

1:49 around Jerez is no joke, I can tell you that for sure. I've been to a few track days up there and there are great riders on great bikes doin 1:55. OK, so it's a HP4 with slicks, but you still have to ride the thing. Seriously impressed by Chris' 1:49

Nothing can replace the knowledge gained from a pro. They understand tracks and riding on a whole other level and each one has their own way of being fast. I loved the first part of this so much information and insight. I always find it funny when you go out on your first lap or two for a lead follow and they say, "ok we'll just go and work the track a little and follow my lines", and then end up pulling away and you find yourself going faster than you thought you would. Good fun man!

Just got back from Jerez and this guide has been the best I've found. You should do more. Managed to knock off 6 seconds from my last here.

Holy shitballs, I don't know what it is exactly, but watching Steve with his fluro 'instructor' vest flapping in the wind like the cape of some superhero is mesmerising as he glides through those bends. Trackday heaven is all I can see. Thanks for sharing Baron.

Its been amazing to see you progress as a rider over the years. Compared to watching you wobble around some dodgy airfield in the rain all those years ago to now you are so damn smooth and so damn quick. Respect!

4 day event! That must be utterly exhausting! I went on a track day crack day beng - set up 2 - 2 day events in a row. By my third day i was trashed. I was to take two days off then attend a 3 day event. I was lucky it rained on my 4th day on the 2 and 2 and it rained the first and last of the 3 day event. I love 2 day events. I learn the most from them. I am heading to Calobogie in Ontario Canada for my first time - if you have never seen it before - well ill let you look up its gorgeous 3.25 mile venue. I will be attending a 4 day there which i cut down to a 3 day. Run a saturday then the monday and tuesday, taking sunday off to digest what i learn.

How many days a year are you on a track ? Ive been rising track for 6 years, the past two more regularly. Still picking up over a second each time I return to a track I time. How long did it take for you to stop increasing your times significantly? I did 19 track days last year and shooting for 27 this season.

Great video! How much better/faster is the HP4 Race than the new RR and the previous generation RR?
@BaronVonGrumble5 жыл бұрын
5 seconds faster than previous RR in road trim, 3 seconds faster than new RR in road trim - from my own laps at Jerez, each rider and circuit is different.
@bernhtp5 жыл бұрын
@@BaronVonGrumble Thanks. That's about what I was expecting. My guess is that the power and weight benefits of a full exhaust system and tune on the new RR would reduce the gap by another second, but the HP4 Race has just too many top-end performance components to be caught by a street bike, even with the same tires. I wonder if/when BMW intends to create an M Race track-only bike.
