My cousin wife is black they were boyfriend and girlfriend since they were 15. They are 62 now and had 3 kids. They built a beautiful house in Puerto Rico that looks like a tropical oasis and they still together. My cousin wife loved my mom too and always came to visit her with him when my mom was sick. Beautiful lady.

​@@daddygrace253That's not exactly correct. The island of Puerto Rico was originally occupied by Taino Indians. After a horrendous bloodbath and conquest Spaniards stayed on the island to benefit from our gold, land, & women. While occupying the land they decided to bring Black indentured servants to work on the island. Resulting in Puerto Ricans ranging from light complexions, blue eyes and fine haired to darker skin, brown eyes and coarser hair.

Stories like this are touching to me because my great great grandpa was white and my great great grandma was black they were in love with each other but couldn't be open about it because it was the early 1900s in Mississippi. They had three children together.❤

Same here...I couldn't tell if she was truly surprised, or if she was kiddingly feighning surprise. Mike's comment reminded me of the movie 'Four Seasons' (with Alan Alda, Carol Burnett, Len Cariou, Sandy Dennis, Rita Moreno, Jack Weston, and others). Alan Alda's character tells Len Cariou's character that, sometimes, he can't stand things about his wife...the clicking of her teeth when she eats, etc., but then there are the times when they can't keep their hands off each other. So true! A mature, responsible couple goes through the eb & flow of a marriage, hopefully without too many scratches and upheavals, and are rewarded with a comfortable companion in later years.

The fact that it was ever illegal for love to be love, kind of makes me ill. But, I am grateful the country came to their senses. People are people, and love is love. My father always told me the importance ove being equally cleaved to your mate, and then when your not it will manifest it's self and it's most prevlent in your offspring. I think the family being mixed offers another layer of complexity to it, but your children and grandchildren are remarkable and it was both of your love and commitment to each other that did that God bless!
