I love how there are a multitude of artist's styles showcased in this song. You've got Marilyn Manson's sound in the beginning, then Linkin Park, then Bullet for My Valentine, Papa Rpach, The Redjumpuut Apparatus, Fallout Boy, a little Disturbed, and even some Five Finger Death Punch notes in there. It is truly an ode to metal. Maybe not any of the hard metals, but that's the beauty of the genre. It encompasses everything from dark ballads to nothing but balls to the wall screaming and guitar godhood. Basically, everything from Linkin Park to Cannibal Corpse.

This is something special. Idk what’s goin on with this dude. But I’m 3 songs he has hit 45 different styles ranging from classic rock to emo to pop to whatever damn! is. There is something different yet so familiar with this dude. It’s 2024 but I feel like this dude was chilling next to lockers with me in 06 high school. I think this song “Ode to Metal” is literal. It seems the lyrics have quite a few references to other rock bands. Someone in the comments pointed out references to Linkin Park, Slipknot, & A Day to Remember. There’s probably quite a few others as well as this Avenged Sevenfold reference but I’d have a better time finding them after looking up the lyrics. I did see someone in the crowd wearing a Korn shirt so that’s probably also an intentional reference. If this song is really a nod to a bunch of the big bands before them, then that would be really cool of Jeris. I love people that show respect to those who helped pave the way.
