JERK IT FOR TROUT! (Creek Fishing)

I went trout fishing at one of my favorite creeks! I used a EuroTackle Z-Spender jerkbait to net some gorgeous trout. The trout were super aggressive. They couldn't resist the jerkbait. I got some great reactions strikes with the jerkbait. It was a sunny winter day with temps around 40 degrees. The creek was in good shape with nice flows. I’ve been fishing for Trout sense I was a kid, always used Rooster Tails, which worked very well. One I went fishing with a friend, we stopped at Walmart before we went to get some lures and tackle. He picked up a Blue Fox Large trout body spinner lure, I didn’t say anything, thought it was too big and laughed to myself. Well, I ate my words, we where trolling it a big lake, he literally caught Trout left and right, all size ones too. One was a 5.5 Brown trout, I never thought how Trout are very carnivore are. Great lure, I went back and bought a few, will always have them in my tackle box, good luck fishing my friends….

This is by far my favorite way to fish trout! Most of my big fish come on jerkbaits. Hard to beat those beautiful fish and that scenery!

Here in Yorkshire in the uk our trout season doesn't start until the 25th of March,so still a little while to wait but my favourite lures for trout are the salmo minnow in minnow colour and the Rapala countdown cd5 in brown trout colours,enjoy your video's so keep up the good work 🎣👍

@@FishHawk I've caught my largest rainbows using yo-zuris they're deadly for bigger fish especially! But all sizes will take em. Quality lures for sure. As with rapala they're a bit pricey but well worth it. Definitely should check em out!!

Trout love the small jerk baits. Fish them by casting up stream to keep them near the bottom.

It gives more feel to watching your videos! You're fishing with full fluorocarbone line ? I always use braid with small nylon line. Better than full fluoro for long cast ;) Indeed, very nice video with nice fishs !!

Full fluoro. No issue with casting distance if you use 4 or 6 lb test

I got a question. I have a few hard bait lures 5 in total probably , all rapala lures countdown 07 and minnow floater and ultralight minnow . So I will be trying theses out for the first time something new for me on a creek/river/stream/lake Bank fishing this spring , exactly where would I cast around in theses areas where trout or other fish might be holed up . You make it look so easy in your videos. I want to make the best of it and not be frustrated try something new. So and advice helps. Thank you appreciate it. Mike from Canada.

I’m not sure what type of creek you’re fishing but if it’s like the creek in this video, look for the deeper holes and cast upstream into the hole. Retrieve the lure back downstream towards you.

Is this the same stream you've fished before? This stream reminds me of my dreams. There is a stream that I fish in my dreams that looks just like this and everything is dead looking and seems like it holds no fish but there are fish everywhere. Its like it seems that everything around you is dead but there is actually life or opportunities everywhere. It might not seem like it or there still might not be as many as you like or in different forms but they are there. Just watching this gives me a really weird feeling like I'm in my dreams and am tapping into certain feeling that you can only feel in the dream. Its very surreal.

@@FishHawk Thanks man, that's a very special creek. You should try taking a few gulps of its water and see what happens and or you should try eating the fish. Fish are medicine because they retain plant matter from the water like a tea and it sticks in their meat just like anything else or pollutants would. Its a thing and that creek probably has very special stuff in its water to be able to sustain and hold life like that.
