I tried jerk baits, inline spinners, Spoons then switched to a classic bucktail jig soaked in my secret dip bait and caught 3 at chatfield across from your spot in deeper water near the marina but didn't get a single hit on the dam road. Just tiny skinny males nothing near or over 18". I think COVID-19 and the stay at home orders over the last 2 years emptied most of lakes. I've been making the rounds and spots I used to pull monsters out of just got nothing but minnows. The only decent thing I caught this year was a Small-Mouth on the Platte-River in town and a monster white sucker on worms at Standley caught tons of trout at Standley but nothing like the past normally I'm not the catch and release type with trout but this spring has been sad so I let them all go hoping the lake might recover.

Man yeah honestly I would have to agree with you! Tons of people pounding the lakes these past few years and most of them could care less about Catch and release or preserving the population! I used to know a few great crappie fisheries but they've been cleaned out! Hopefully more people will get educated and get on board with keeping fish in our lakes and selectively harvesting

Just asking but the regulations I was reading says you can fish from the dam? Last time I went there I was jigging off the boat peirs as you were and got reamed... Lol

Do you use lead leaders or just your regular line? I've caught 3 walleye before but on accident so I didn't have the leaders on. Just curious if they are actually needed?

Honestly I never use the leaders for Walleye Fishing only for pike! In my most recent video I catch all of my walleye on 4lb line but don't get me wrong you can definitely break off a few fish
