@@philipbrooks i guess he has to stick to his own tempo and totally ignore that he's hearing back everything delayed (by around 0.2-0.4 sec), and not to get in sync with the delayed sound (that's what probably anyone would do instintcly, shifting into that, going off tempo and playing slower and slower), but at the same time, not completely shutting of the delayed sound, because that's where he's hearing Lizzy. It's probably not that hard. For me playing 4/4 with your foot and 5/4 with your hand as a drummer seems to be waaaaaaay more harder than this :) (non musician here)

@@asdfhun I think this. the viewer and collaborator hear it in sync and are behind jacob playing at his own speed. sometimes jacob follows their lead during a messup and this is why he is an alien
