Tony the lead singer and Tuomas from Nightwish are best friends. Years ago when Tuomas was in a deep depression and was going to disband Nightwish, it was Tony that talked him out of it. Thank you Tony!!!!!!! I love his voice also. He is also in a side project with Marco and a couple of other singers called Northern Kings. They do cover songs of rock and roll songs. First time I heard this song. I loved it! Thanks for sharing!

Tonys voice express alot of emotions. For me thats the heart and soul of Sonata Arctica. So good live :)

My favorite song from them. This music, in my opinion transports you into his own atmosphere. Melodical, fast and heavy. Simply amazing. The other song that causes me that same felling is "The Pharaoh" from the band Edguy. You should listen this one too. And sorry about my English, i am brazilian but i am practicing ^^

Easily one of my favorite bands and probably my favorite live band. Seen them 3 times. Consistently great even when they change up sound on some albums.

This song is a master piece, from the best times of this band, i also recomend you to hear "the power of one" but the studio one. i personally think hearing them in studio is a lot better because u can actually pay atention to all the symphony element they have. Awesome work reviewing music btw.

Great reaction! I'd recommend you to listen to a lyric video of a studio version and closely follow the lyrics (some lines are missing in this live version, it's way easier to understand what happens with those in). It's really a heart wrecking little story, something that only Tony Kakko can make, it just elevates this song to an even a higher level and even after countless listens it still hits me right in the feels. :)

the goosebumps when you are listening, following the lyrics and understand a new metaphor inside it

It has some great details, like in the beginning it taking him 101 steps to go down the lighthouse, but later down the line, after everything happens, it takes 10000 steps to go down. Tony is an amazing poet.

Lots of folks tout this song among their greatest; for me it’s probably top 30 or so. Tony has an amazing amazing voice, it’s true, and the band has so much to offer. Full Moon is a classic and just never gets old; Don’t Say a Word, The Cage, Silver Tongue, and Only the Broken Hearts (Make You Beautiful) are other great starters. I’m totally here for more SA reactions-I love to see them appreciated!

Problem with this version is they cut the very first potion of the lyrics, which explain the song's story. Basically it's about man who guards a lighthouse, and during a one-night night of passion with a girl in town, he neglects his duty, causing the death of many in an accident at sea. Here's my Sonata Arctica recommendations: - _(For Something Fast)_ *Blank File* (Live Version): Posted by a channel called *SONAARCAOFFICIAL* it's the live version from their 2011 DVD release *Live in Finland* - _(For Something Classic)_ *Full Moon* : This is the defacto classic Sonata Arctica song. Played over 1000 times live and liked even by non-metal fans. Any version is great. - _(For Something Dark and Symphonic)_ *Deathaura* : One of the most unique and powerful songs by the band and one of my favorites. Get the album version online. - _(For a Ballad)_ *Shamandalie* : My favorite ballad from them and from the same album as *White Pearl, Black Oceans* , you wanna find the studio version. Beautiful track.
