I just got done playing dark souls 1 (my first fromsoft game) and hearing people say the last 1/3rd of the game sucked balls is so so vindicating. Like the lost izalith felt like a poorly balanced mod. I actually felt like I was 8 year old me and my mom got me a bad game for a console and I'm too polite to say I dont like it so I'm playing it pretending I like it but I'm actually crying inside at how it feels like my balls are being stapled to a ceiling fan. No other game has made me feel that way.

Seeing those 7 Taurus demons standing in a lava field with nothing else literally felt like a mod made in 20 minutes. Same with Lost izalith spamming the same testicle demon over and over regain, that don't even have any walking or attack animations. And the dragon legs from Ariamis just being copy and pasted 30 times around the lava is fucking ridiculous. Actual shittiest area in From Soft history, which is such a shame because the lore and architecture is some of my favourite in the game. Edit: I actually did enjoy both New Londo and Tomb of the Giants as kind of spooky horror areas, and Dukes Archives should have been cool as well but the garden section and crystal cages feel half finished. Lost Izalith is where shit just hit the fan, and it's only saving grace is that it isn't that hard. And the bosses are Ceaseless Discharge, Centipede Demon, Firesage Demon and Bed of Chaos? Nah fuck that. There's zero redeeming qualities about Lost Izalith.

@@jamesbell1186 for me it's the fact there's no ambient sounds in that area. It's just complete still silence. Completing that as my very last area in the game left me with such a sour taste in my mouth about fromsoft as a whole.

@@JacobKinsley I'm running through the game right now, and I've saved the DLC for last which has definitely redeemed the game for me. But in terms of base game, Lost Izalith is such a whimper to go out on. It's not even terrible by Dark Souls 1 standards, it's blatantly the most unpolished and unfinished area they've made in any of these games.
