Jerma Reacts To ELDEN RING NIGHTREIGN - Reveal Gameplay Trailer

If anybody here hasn't sniffed out the details yet; It's a 1-3 player co op roguelike. You choose a "Hero" or "Class" (dunno what they will call it) that has it's own abilities and special attacks centered around different roles. You drop in BR style and land wherever you want to start. You run around looting and leveling for 30 minutes as the ring closes in on an unspecified location. The goal is to survive and loot for 3 days to then defeat a big final boss that is located where ever the ring closes in on. There's field bosses you can try to fight, it sounds like loot will have special passives or modifiers. The director, Junya Ishizaki, says they plan for the map to change. Something like, volcanoes and swamps sprouting up among other "biomes". He also said they want to have the map change and morph as you progress the game's "story" or whatever the meta progression is. I think they said they haven't decided if they are going to do continuous updates, but they are considering it. Junya Ishizaki has been brewing this for a while and pitching it to Miyazaki. Miyazaki likes the idea and told Ishizaki that he should try directing it.

I think it’s gonna be a sequel about the consequences of our protagonist slaughtering most of the major forces and choosing the Ranni’s ending. Every order in ER seems to be flawed and in this game we’ll see how Ranni’s is too. Like, the game has Nightreign in its title and THE DOOR has cosmos around it instead of the tree. Also, I haven’t really noticed any enemy that looked like a demigod which may prove that the MC of ER indeed slaughtered the whole lineage canonically. Or it may not gonna be canon at all )

Obviously they can't have a sequel for every ending but making one about the most popular ending and seeing those consequences as a separate character could be very interesting. Especially if it's framed correctly, for example imagine they keep talking about this horrible god and we finally get to them and it's our character supported by Ranni.

A genius move. They can use the same engine, do far less story work, and lean into the combat they’ve already fine tuned. It gives them another influx of cash to use for their next main title release, probably for the next gen, and makes the gap between ER and the follow-up feel shorter. They could take five years between main releases without complaints, because ER has turned out to be massive in a way beyond any predictions.

Since it seems they’re going for the souls games to be connected in this spin-off they can bring back anything, and it can be like an all-stars fromsoft game. Just update it every now and then with new bosses and characters and you have a solid game for a couple years.

I have a theory. I think this game is gonna reveal that the ending of DS3 created a new timeline which is this new hybrid of Dark Souls and Elden Ring which is why we can have more than 1 main character.

basically if its anyones wondering. this game is catered to fi the itch for a coop experience in elden ring. this is not another open world rpg. the player plays w 2 others and explores an AU version of the starting map and kills bosses n mobs in a roguelike experience. teach round lasts 3 elden rjng nights and the final boss is called the night lord. this game is essentially a tribute to all the past soulsborne experinces with old bosses returning, game mechanics, and dugeons. but this time ull have full coop w ur friends. so js imagine elden rkng fortnite

I started out about the same time and only missed a year or two after they stopped using their main channels on KZbin, caught them streaming and watched Jerma's second channel quite a lot. The game is a extraction looter with 3 player coop, you select 1 of 8 premade characters and go into a map, where teired loot and enemies are randomized and you go around killing enemies to level up so you can kill the boss. It is a 40-minute gameplay loop.
