The rams disrespected him with this trade it was all the same people in the org so def a revenge game for him
@davidroberts7282 Жыл бұрын
The Rams, although they got far less benefit from this clearly one-sided trade, long-term, probably did Bettis a huge favor in trading him to a team which had a strong, smash-mouth aggressive running-centered offense along with a dominant, nasty feared defense, was able to better showcase Bettis' skills and allow him to gain 6, 7 more 1,000-rushing seasons instead of him eventually runner down or marginalized out of St. Louis more open passing-oriented offense they began implementing under Rich Brooks in 1995. If Bettis hadn't been traded to Steelers before the 1996 season, his career likely ends by 1998 or 1999 and he doesn't amount anything close to resembling a future HOF career. And keep in mind, their are some HOF writers and voters who mightve kept him out of Canton for a longer period of time if Pittsburgh doesn't go on that magical 2005 SB run. That helped him immensely. He even admitted and alluded to it as well as praising Big Ben for making his incredible tackle, preventing Nick Harper of Colts from returning Bettis late-game fumble in AFC Div. game for a probable GW TD.
@exiledrabbit Жыл бұрын
@@davidroberts7282 I don't disagree with anything you're saying, no doubt the trade benefitted Bettis immensely. I do think it was a revenge game for him though, he didn't leave there feeling respected or like they were doing it for his best interests.
