Thanks for posting. I just caught the audio stream of this track on WDAS Sunday night dance party hosted by Joe "Butter" Tamburro. Just goes to further prove that Philly was the center of of successful R&B produced from, say, '72 thru '88. And I'm a New Yorker admitting this.

Jerry Butler reuniting with Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff back in 1978 with I’m Just Thinking About Coolin’ Out that returned the Iceman back into the R&B top twenty peaking at number 14 back in December 1978. It was a combination of Chicago/Philadelphia all over again!!! Great disco hit for those who needed a break from the daily grind and Jerry is telling like it is!!!

On this day in 1978 {November 18th} Jerry Butler performed "{I'm Just Thinking About) Cooling Out" on the nationally syndicated television program, 'Soul Train'... At the time "Cooling Out" was at position #33 on Billboard's Hot Soul Singles chart, four weeks later it would peak at #14 {for 1 week}... Between 1958 and 1983 'The Iceman' had fifty-one records on the Hot Soul Singles chart, fifteen made the Top 10 with three reaching #1, "He Will Break Your Heart" for 7 non-consecutive weeks* in 1960, "Hey, Western Union Man" for 1 week in 1968, and "Only the Strong Survive" for 2 weeks in 1969... Twelve of his fifty-one charted records were duets; three with Betty Everett, three with Brenda Lee Eager, two with the Impressions, two with Gene Chandler, one with Patti Austin, and one with Debra Henry... Jerry Butler, Jr. will celebrate his 80th birthday next month on December 8th, 2019... R.I.P. Don Cornelius {1936 - 2012}... * Twice "He Will Break Your Heart" was bumped out of the #1 spot by "Let's Go, Let's Go, Let's Go" by Hank Ballard & the Midnighters, only to regain the #1 position for a 3rd time...
