Having seen AIC on their first tour, you really realize just how much Jerry sang on all of their songs. The blend of his and Laynes voices was incredible! He didn’t just find his singing voice. YOU just found it! He’s had it all along.

@Jason Morris When you mentioned Alabama, my family comes from that region and further deep into Louisiana. I've always thought there was this country rock thing to Jerry's writing/playing that never stood out, or had a chance to, as Alice in Chains stuck to quite darker stuff, although there was always that little inkling of country rock... now, he's able to do so, and it seems as though he's totally comfortable now. Good on you, Jerry.

I do respect William Duvall, because he never just suddenly jumped in and be a replacement for Layne (one of my favourite singers EVER) .. he gently came into his own role out of respect for Layne. He's a great musician on his own, and Jerry and Sean Kinney are just a great duo on their own too.

What’s fantastic about Jerry’s playing is it shows his music subtly touches into those other styles of music with keeping such a guitar heavy sound but it’s always got that underlined grunge AIC sound. Everyone has had their importance in that band but as someone who picked up guitar later in life despite being a fan for longer, I really appreciate him as an artist. An AICs song was the first song I thought myself to play. Jerry’s guitar music he writes in everything he’s done is really enjoyable to play.
