He is truly one of the great American song writers! Unfortunately he doesn’t get the recognition of the John Fogertys or Bob Dylans, etc, because the heavy dark aspects of his writing, doesn’t fit the status quo. He should be in the Rock and Roll hall of fame, with AIC, as well as The American Songwriters!

Is it just me, or is he underrated? I hate using that word here. We're all here because of our immense admiration and appreciation for his talent. I guess it's just me. I find myself asking, how is his music not being played everywhere, all the time? His music with Layne, with William, and his solo work have had such a profound impact on my life.

@@MzuMzu-nx1em They were. I became a musician after that and these icons brought that out in me. Economic times were tough, our family had no money, lost our house. Couldn't afford anything. It was a dark era. But my small circle of friends and these bands got us through it. When i listen to this era i feel sadness but triumph as well that i learned something new about myself and me and my friends got through it.

Me too. I think that’s because Layne’s voice had the exact pitch of an electric guitar with distortion. Jerry usually doubles his voice with guitars.

Met Jerry at a club in San Diego that they were playing on facelift...he was talking to some chicks...he was totally cool to me when I interrupted and told him how hard he kicked ass!!...he walked away and brought me back some picks and stuff...true legend🔥🔥
