Bro put together one of the best rotations largely through the draft and upper management wouldn’t open their pockets in FA after having the highest revenue streams in the mlb. You’ll realize no matter who the GM is in Seattle this ownership group with Stanton will severely limit their ability to win.

This organization is on the precipice of ending. There is no more rebuilds. Either this organization figures it out or Seattle is going to run this dumpster fire out of town. 5 total playoff appearances since 1977. Seattle deserves better and if they can’t figure this out then Seattle needs to cut a bad investment and send this circus to some other town.

@@ronwurzer5138 You must not have been a fan in the down years when there were about 10,000 fans in the stands (or less at times). Kingdome days in the early 80's you could have a conversation with another fan across the field on the other sideline it was so quiet. Mid 2000's at Safeco were the same. When they are winning, they can pack the house but those years after years of losing records, it was pretty low attendance. Unless the Blue Jays or Yankees were in town. More fans came to see opposing teams than the Mariners.

You know that Jerry really wanted to succeed with Scott, as they came to the organization together and turned it around tremendously, he expressed this many times when we finally made it to the postseason and prior to. Moving forward we need a continuity in the lineup and to take out our starters when they aren't getting the outs regardless of if it's in the 5th inning or earlier, anyways..... Sucks that Servais is gone but let's rock this out!! Let's Go M's 🔱🔱🔱

On paper they were. There is just something about Seattle that brings out the worst in hitters. Urias and Polonco were supposed to be .250 hitters with some pop. Granted, Polonco is hitting around .240 I think since July 1 but before being hurt Urias did squat. Raley is way below his career average. Rojas started off hot but his average has dropped 60 points since May. Ty France is batting about .270 with the Reds since he left. Teoscar is doing great in LA after having his worst season in Seattle last year. Robles has been a great surprise and has remained consistent but he is one of the only ones. Raleigh is batting .220 but has double the RBI of the next player on the team so I will take that. But yeah, it has to be hitting coaching or scouting or something that is causing this to happen. These guys are all professional. Over half your lineup should not be hitting below .220.

I mean we came into the zeason with a sub 10HR 3rd baseman in Rojas... a sub 20HR hitter in 1st baseman Ty France... a broke down Haniger & a DH in Garver thats never played an entire seaso. HIS Whole career... Secondly, have you seen the Spray charts for Mariner hitters? When was the last time ANYONE went the other way? They don't... they're all expecting Fastball and out in front hence the reason why we strikeout against any pitcher with a offspeed pitch... change, curve, slider... doesn't matter... we dont even foukd putches OFF!!! thank goodness DeHart was let go... and TBH we had a much better offense last year.. you had a legit 3Hole hitter in TEO... We've never had a Legit leadoff hitter in Seattle while Dipoto has been here until the accident which is Robles... JP leading off stealing less then 5 bags a year is ridiculous playing in TMobile Park!!! Restart with a new GM/President next year... Everyone complaining about the Ownership must not watch Baltimore and they bottom 5 payroll... we're middle of the road in payroll every year... Dipoto not only was given payroll he used it on 2years of Haniger and Garver!!!! Hardest part is he locked us into 30Million in payroll for 2025 on those 2 ALSO!!! Horrible decision!!! Were going to have to trade some pitching next year... probably Kirby to get s legit 1st or 3rd baseman thats a legit MLB player... unless you can Move Hancock, and maybe Tai Peete who is Years Away for someone like Mountcastle... eho I think can still get better since hes young... Dipoto has taken the Evan White bad signing who was under ❤team control!!! And compounded it by trying to flip this and that... Then he trades Ray for a bad contract in Haniger whos been washed up... Ray came back Healthy and do you know what a Healthy formwr Cy Young Power Lefty is worth on the trade market? Joc Pederson and Pham both signed for Pennies!!! Why couldnt we have signed one of both of them for 3MIllion? Something Stinks in Seattle and the results of Winker and France make we wonder why it is... even Abraham Toro has been hitting in Oakland... the list goes on and on... in 9 years tell me what Hitters have the Mariners produced internally? NOT TRADED FOR!!! Who have they drafted in Dipoto era thar can hit? Not Julio he was an International Signing we outbid other teams for... I mean drafted and coached up into even AVERAGE big leaguers? I mean besides Cal .220 and 35HRs... I hope ownership pulls the trigger and gets the asst GM from either Baltimore or TB and we get some internal system in place to draft and produce BOTH hitting and pitching!!! I mean Seattle cant afford to go out and sign 2- 3yr 60-80million dollar players every year... they spend enough money to be a competitive team... Jerry would rather try and HOARD pitching instead of trying to move Kirby or Hancock for a REAL 3rdbaseman... SMH... a real GM knows the weakness of his team AND the weakness of his FARM!!! Why didnt he trade a few AA OF or Pitching prospects for Position of NEED? I mean what legit 1st base and 3rd base propects do we have in the System? Dipoto has never learned to stack your FARM... Just drafts 20 Pitchers EVERY DRAFT!!! that isnt a winning recipe when You need more position players by far than 5 starters... you can make the Playoffs and win a championship with your Top3 starters and a Serviceable OFFENSE.. Arizona Won it with 2!!! Randy Johnson and Schilling!!! To have to rebuild the bullpen EVERY year with other teams rejects is ridiculous whe. DIPOTO has always taken 75% pitching in the TOP of the DRAFTS!!!! Another season down the drain and Dipoto Claim to Fane is a WildCard Playoff entry that they only got because of Expanded Playoff structure!!! Ownership... its time to give another guy a chance with this stacked Farm and controllable Rotation for 3 more years!!! Gilbert will not resign with the Anemic offenses Dipoto puts together out of Paper Mache!!!!

Dipoto would have been my choice of termination 5 years ago! Until he is gone this team will continue to flounder. He’s been here what, 10-12 seasons? This is his mess and his alone! If still lived in Seattle I wouldn’t attend another game until he’s gone! Retired and living in Arizona makes it very easy. Won’t be going to another spring training camp either until he gone!

If Servais found out of his firing through the media, then the lack of communication isn't only from the manager with the players, it's an organizational problem and, therefore, a managerial change won't solve many issues.
@jamesnash6101
@jamesnash6101 20 күн бұрын
What the Mariners must do is play small ball. That includes bunting and advancing players. They also must have a strategy when their are players in scoring position. But that's the second issue. The first is all of the trading that Jerry Dipoto has done during his tenure with this team. In my opinion, the Mariners have a great squad, and they need to resign all of these players. For at least the next 4 years. And that includes paying them fair market value. The reputation that the Mariners have is this. They are not loyal to the players. Therefore, the players are not loyal to the organization. Just think about what a player must go through when joining any MLB team. This decision affects his entire life. He must uproot his entire family. His children have to go to new schools. They will not see their freinds. His wife must find housing. And build a completely new life outside of baseball. Yes, it's a business, but to the players' families. It's not stable. Or sustainable. Because, and again, it's a disruption. When Robie Ray signed that $115mil. Guarantee contract with Seattle. He stated that the most important thing for him is financial stability for his family. This is what Dipoto has failed to consider. When trading players. Again, and yes it's a business. But to the fans and the players. It's our entertainment and the players' livelihood. But Dipoto treated the players like chess pieces. Without any regard to the human element. Again, how many players have come and gone since he's been here. And then went on to succeed with other teams? Now Seattle has another problem. All of those starting rotation pitchers contracts. Will soon expire. They are going to be a hot item on the market. And when Seattle losses them. What has Dipoto really accomplished? Except for a lot of turnover. But as soon as he got his one playoff game in Seattle. The following season, he was promoted into another pisition. And now he can blame the other guy who took his place for any mistakes. And that's exactly what happened. The bottom line is this. The players are not going to drink the Mariners Cool-aid any longer. If the Mariners want to build trust with the players. Resign the entire starting team to at least four year contracts. And then you'll show the starting rotation that you are serious about winning a world series. Again, You wanted to rebuild the team. Well they are good enough to win a World series.

Time will tell if this was the right move. I appreciate Scott and his leadership. I think Jerry said it right when he spoke of Scott bringing stability to this club. He did a great job. But the team was not performing for him. Whatever he was trying to impart was not getting through. You need a new voice and new chemistry sometimes. It’s not about Scott’s failure or his qualifications. It’s about the messaging this group of players needs to get right, and they haven’t been right under Scott. Not his fault. We just need a new voice. That being said, I think Jerry needs to take more responsibility for the incompetent way this all went down. He needs to get his front office under control and stop just saying “oops, that wasn’t supposed to happen. I feel bad about that.” If it wasn’t you, get your people under control.

Servais had to go sure, but it looks to me like ownership told him to make this hire. It looks like Dipoto has been running interference for ownership all along-which unfortunately is what his position entails. I think any GM would have preferred to pick an interim like Manny Acta and then undergo a full interview & search with candidates from other organizations instead of repurposing a spare part and making him the permanent manager.

Yeah that’s the guy JD decided to replace Scott gimmie a break this guy choked when it mattered most and now we think he’s gonna be able to turn this thing around! I give up JD sorry bro your contract is up and you gotta go, it’s the least ownership can do to say they want to win. Otherwise it’s like them saying we don’t care because we know you’re gonna give up the money and we don’t care. What if we all stopped paying to see this team. Them if the profits dropped maybe they would have to sell the team because obviously money is all that matters to this ownership group.

It's not all Scott's fault! Jerry should take responsibility as well for not spending the money to get better players who can hit.

I am a Mariners fan but Jerry Dipoto is horrible at his job and needs to get fired immediately everything he does is a horrible idea and it does not work he should have been fired years ago not promoted the only reason he’s still the president of baseball operations is because the owners are a joke and they don’t know how to own a baseball franchise but going on to Scott Servais it’s unfortunate he’s gone but he had to go we continue to blow things year after year after year also why in the world is Dan Wilson the permanent manager and not the interim manager he was the minor league catching coordinator he has no MLB coaching experience it’s ridiculous I know he’s in the Mariners Hall of Fame but that has nothing to do with coaching!

Next should be ownership and the president, or things will not change at all.

Sorry Jerry, I don't buy it. The only surprise is how far Scott Servais took then Mariners on such a cheap payroll. And you get to keep your job. If anything, this was predictable and Scott had to know it was a losing proposition to work under this executive group. It's the same story. Inconsistent hitting and the M's brass do their usual pick up of players with name recognition for the average fans but players who are well past their prime. And what do former all stars do when they are past their prime? They begin to hit inconsistently but the fans, not smart enough to know, keep coming based on the names of players who no longer can meet the expectations of their former selves. And the Mariner's are the only team who will trade players to a team in their own division. Why doesn't anyone speak-up? You know Jerry, not all fans are naive and ill-informed. You seem like a descent guy and if you are, then you would be embarrassed at how you and the organization have treated Mr. Scott Servais. I wonder, do you feel proud being the hit guy for the ownership who only hired you to keep the heat off their comfy lives? The best measuring stick of a team is to be able to observe how well they do in a play-off situation. Very few organizations are given this luxury. That scenario, teaches you exactly what you need to do to improve and the M's were more than fortunate to be given that opportunity. And what did they do with that opportunity, they did absolutely nothing and by doing nothing, they spit in the faces of the fans who paid to come to the games. When fans give their hard earned money that they worked hard for, they expect the M's ownership to do the same. But evidently, they have a very different value system and one that does not provide respect for those who fill their pockets. I'm sure they tell you that they pay the players so they expect them to play their hearts out for the fans and the city and yet, do they do the same? When is someone going to call them out? You are really not in a position to do it and M's radio is getting paid to support them and so we cannot expect much there. Will anybody step up for the city of Seattle? Anyone???

They need to make changes to the ball park as well as coaching. I hope Dan knows how to say the perfect things to change it around but from a hitters stand point, these guys just need to play better. Go home and see Momma, get some of that home cooking, sit on the porch with pop and sip on some lemonade, whatever...just clear the mind. There has to be a reason good players come to Seattle and immediately struggle. It's happened year after year. From Adrian Beltre to Richie Sexon, Teoscsar, Mitch Garver and on and on. It's like a curse. Is it something about this ownership group, the perfect summer weather in Seattle that makes players want to go walk around pike place rather than hit a baseball? Someone out there has got to be able to fix it. Can we talk another Microsoft billionaire into picking up the team and making it his personal project like Paul Allen did with the Seahawks...

Why is this whole team not hitting? Except for Cal Raleigh, everybody is hitting way below season normal. I have a half serious suggestion. Get rid of the trident! They reward hitters for hitting home runs. It's good to celebrate of course, but the emphasis all season has been to hit home runs. They should be more aggressive at bat, I've seen too many times they just stand there and get called out on third strike.

Now he should fire himself! Replace Sevais with Dan Wilson? No disrespect, but he's got no major league managerial experience and now he's hired, and it's not even on an interim basis. How about Joe Madon? Or some other ex managers out there who's proven to know how to win or actually won a world series.

Horrible signing after Horrible signing... bht could it be as easy as hitti g and offensive approach? Hitting behind runners with 1st and 3rd and NOBODY OUT!!! jist to watch us swing for the fences and not even put the Ball in PLAY!!! No thanks... no interested in watching or paying for that product... I can watch that at my 10yr old Sons Game against the AAU Starter!!!

I like Jerry for the most part. I think he’s made the best of what he gets from ownership. I feel for the guy he had to fire his best friend which is not fun. It was time for Scott to go. I’m stoked about Dan the Man I figured he would have already been a manager I’m glad he gets to be ours!
