Lukewarm Christians don’t truly seek freedom from their sin; they only desire escape from its penalty. They mistake partial cleanliness for holiness. Yet, Jesus calls us not to mere sanitation, but to discipleship. Following Him means not only avoiding sin, but sharing in His suffering. Lukewarm Christians are more focused on earthly life than on eternity in heaven. They cling to their comforts. Lukewarm Christians give God their leftovers instead of their best. Let’s stop excusing complacency as “being busy” or “forgetful.” As Malachi 1:8 reminds us, this attitude is not just an oversight-it is evil.

There is a difference between growing and being lukewarm. Growing is a life of repentance. Like warm is being double minded. People in a life of sin who don’t want to get out, get offended and will say what about you? There’s so many issues with why he said here 3:55-4:52. First of all, the passage that talks about being lukewarm I recently learned has been grossly misinterpreted. It is not about your intensity. It’s about being a place where people can either bathe and be cleaned or drink and be refreshed. It’s not Jesus saying, either be for me or against me. Secondly, it seems that Ryan has some foundational wrong beliefs about what it means to be a follower of Christ. The ultimate end is not to be a better person or mess up less. It’s to die to ourselves and worship God. To continue in sanctification and be slaves to Christ while we are here, to build His Kingdom. Thirdly, we cannot “try” to live a righteous life. Because our best is but dirty rags to God. We must humble ourselves. Realize we can never do or be good enough, and accept the sacrifice of Christ who IS and will forever be good enough. (2 Cor 5:16-21) The definition of righteousness includes making mistakes (Prov 24:16). The righteous person falls 7 times but they get up 7 times. Its the getting up that makes us righteous. Which is, confessing our sin to God, to a trusted brother/sister, forgiving others sins against us, and moving on, trying not to repeat the sin. Yes mistakes will happen, but we aren’t to take an attitude of, “well I’m not perfect and I’ll never be and God will forgive me so it’s okay”. This is heavily condemned in Romans 6. The whole chapter but especially verses 1-4. And finally, to the “isn’t that judgmental” statement. Too many believers believe the lie that we’re. Not supposed to judge. We are supposed to make righteous judgements. And when it comes to holding another brother or sister accountable, we are absolutely to judge the actions. We are NOT to CONDEMN because God is the one who does that. But I can judge an action right or wrong according to the standard of the Word and my brothers are supposed to do the same for me.

My first reaction when I heard the questions of what does it mean to be lukewarm was “it really isn’t that complicated….if you do not abide to scripture and do what is against God’s word, attempting to feed the flesh while also trying to be lead in spirit….it is lukewarm” but then I had to take a step back and humble myself….everyone is genuinely in different stages on this walk, and some truly may not know the difference. We must remember to be mindful of that, to help guide and teach what scripture says from a place of love and patience and not from a place of judgment and hostility, so that they can repent, turn from their ways, and live the life that He has called us to live. Revelations 3:16 and also Romans 12:2 are great reference scriptures for those who need it 🙏🏽💕

As someone who has been a believer all my life and just got out of a Luke warm season, the biggest thing that will get you out of it is fasting. Some believers feel like fasting is an option but it is literally a solution to keep our salvation intact. When you figure out why you are in a Luke warm season, for me it was a void, ask God to deliver you from that. There are many methods of fasting but the one that I feel from experience that worked the best for my deliverance is fasting from food. Of course do it based on what is safe for you but some do 3 day fasts with only water or 1 meal a day for a week. Do what you feel led to do and stick to it. The gospels is a good book to start if you don't know where to begin. I loved the book of John. Make sure to pray in the morning and at night. When you feel hungry pray for strength. Go to the bathroom or car (if you are at work), and do a short 5 min worship session to get you over the hump. It's important to do what is necessary to get out of a lukewarm phase because it is basically like you weren't saved. Salvation is rooted in our obedience and full submission under God. So a lukewarm lifestyle is a huge contradiction to that. Sin is always rooted in something. Sometimes trauma makes us turn to sin. For example of you are dealing with grief, your "solution" maybe to party and drink the pain away. So find the root and go from there. As someone who wants to please God but still finding myself messing up, I don't ever judge other believers, instead I encourage them to get through their season because I know they will experience the Love of God through me. I see the growth of the two gentlemen here and pray that God continues to guide them because being an Christian influencer or celebrity is not for the weak!

He needs to encounter Jesus, not just know Him via church, sermons, books, etc. It's hard to be lukewarm or stay an immature Christian when you seek to know Him through reading of the Word, worship songs, and prayer. If you're fornicating and keep going back and back you are lukewarm and it opens the door to the enemy and spiritual warfare against your own self.

Proud of both of these men. They had grown so much in their walks with the Lord and are seeking understanding of a world they are still new operating in, the Kingdom of God World. The lack of grace and ability to see their growth baffles me. Love you, bros.

I haven't listened to you for long, but one thing that stood out to me was your language at times. No corrupt speech. My husband didn't think you were a Christian. I wasn't sure. Not judging, but as someone new to your podcast, it made me wonder if you were. God cleaned up my mouth ... first. Would you have that same language with Christ sitting across from you? I try to live my life knowing that yes... He is sitting and watching, and He will judge.

Ryan is a Lukewarm Christian that’s why he is offended. Read Revelation 3:14-18

I raised 75k and Maria Luisa Clare is to be thanked. I got my self my dream car 🚗 just last weekend, My journey with her started after my best friend came back from New York and saw me suffering in dept then told me about her and how to change my life through her. Maria L. Clare is the kind of person one needs in his or her life! I got a home, a good wife, and a beautiful daughter. Note!:: this is not a promotion but me trying to make a point that no matter what happens, always have faith and keep living!!

I just wanted to give you a heads up on what being lukewarm actually means it had to do with where they were located the church that Paul was talking to at that time and what it means is the hot water that was being pumped in had healing properties and then it flowed through and became lukewarm it could make you sick on the other side of the area they had Cold Springs that will refreshing but as they flow through they became lukewarm also which is no longer refreshing so basically what Jesus was saying is when you are no longer refreshing or healing in your manner of speaking and how you live you are then a lukewarm Christian which is why Jesus said he will spit you out of his mouth because the water there when it was lukewarm would actually make them sick hope this helps
@wrestling4thecultureАй бұрын
Exactly. Cold wasn't bad because the cold water was good and the hot water was good as well. The Lukewarm water was not. It's all about faith. Cold Christians may have a little faith, but they have faith. A hot Christian is on fire, but they have faith. Cold and hot Christian keep the balance. The biblical definition of a Lukewarm Christian would be the self rightoues people whose faith is not 100 in the death, burial, and resurrection. They are Luke warm.

I mean tbh he definitely has some lukewarm vibes 😂😂😂. Tiphani Montgomery sat on this show and gave scripture to back up the demonic covenant with his fraternity. He said he’s not leaving it 😂😂😂 . However, I can honestly see the growth over the past few months. The danger of being lukewarm is what Pastor Flowers mentioned….time. Time is running out for lukewarm lifestyle. When you stand before God in judgement you don’t get to say “I was changing “ or “I’m not where I used to be” . None of that matters. Also don’t be so quick to tell people not to judge you. Righteous judgment is necessary. A stranger can tell me I’m wrong not just people I respect. Visiting a church someone rebuked me gave me a word from the Lord. My 1st reaction was to be upset but she was not wrong. So receive the correction,repent and move on.

Pastor at 2819 Church said a good interpretation of this. He said you should be either refreshing (cold)for others for God or on fire and able to ignite others for God. I’m paraphrasing but that was the point. But if we are lukewarm we are not refreshing nor on fire for God. That’s where I am if I am honest. Pray for me.
@aaronware1223Ай бұрын
This isn’t that complicated. The statement was directed at the Church of Laodicea, who’s become reliant on their wealth for fulfillment and purpose, rather than their passion for Christ. How has the pursuit or convenience of wealth shaped your drive to add meaning and value to your life? If you flip flop between a God-centered sense of purpose and vain pursuit …you’ve got lukewarm.

Well I noticed that Ryan cussed in the snippet video with Preston Perry. We are not to have cussing and blessings come out of the same mouth. Just really started watching the podcast though. 🤷🏽♀️
@ItsMissChas5Ай бұрын
Right. And Tysean cusses ALL THE TIME in front of the Christian's they invite on their show. Just UNCOUTH.
@MrBowen-ei3uuАй бұрын
There is no scripture that says cussing is a sin. The bible says "cursing" which means to wish harm or speak evil of or on someone. If you actually knew the original language, you would know that there is foul language in the bible. The bible today was translated to make it more palatable for us to read today. The men of the bible were going to war and killing people because God commanded them to, do you think that they weren't cussing when they were chopping heads off, lol.
@lifepurposeministryАй бұрын
Exactly. And to be offended by the truth is a demon in its self. It’s not hard to not be Luke warm when you are single. Just stop having sex. Stop living in willful sin. But they are living on both sides.

The hosts of this show use this platform as a way to acquire status and gain access to as many woman as possible. They have sat through multiple guests explaining how the behavior they ABSOLUTELY are still engaging in(regardless of what RC Blakes ect teach/preach) is not healthy-yet, they turn the camera off and engage in the same shenanigans. They always sit there looking shocked when a guest breaks it down. Ryan needs to be told over and over that the behavior he engages in would be hurtful if he was experiencing it. Narcissistic! No empathy 💯

0:01 Many of us didn't realize we were lukewarm until after we stopped backsliding and returned to the church. We were unaware of our spiritual condition, just as Revelation 3:16 warns: "So, because you are lukewarm-neither hot nor cold-I am about to spit you out of my mouth." But now, knowing that we are lukewarm, are we really comfortable staying in that state, even for a moment? What kind of Christian can be at peace with being in a compromised position before God? Jesus calls us to be fervent in our faith, not to settle for mediocrity (Romans 12:11).

These two are always asking “man” questions, but they don’t seem to ask GOD, via his word! Many guest, if none will ever give them the unadulterated truth of what God has to say because the guests want to retain or gain the popularity of hosts audience! I have yet to see any so-called person representing the most high go on that show and call them to the carpet about their professing relationship with Christ! My spiritual development came about as a result of God, speaking to me through his word. I came up in a time when we didn’t have internet, and certainly no podcast Christianity, so it was you and the Holy Spirit living out John 14:25-26! we are living in such a dangerous time of this “slippery slope salvation” that is sending people to hell believing themselves saved!!

Ryan, I don’t know if you are reading these comments but, no it’s not every Christian. The difference is that lukewarm people make a conscious decision every day to continue to sin and do things that they know our contrary to what God expects of us. It’s another thing to be trying to live right but you fall short. I believe it was Paul who says “the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak”. That means you want to do the right thing, but your flesh will often want the opposite. And you fight against those things. If you are lukewarm, you will continue to let your flesh win. Based on your conversation and the growth I’ve seen, I wouldn’t say you are a lukewarm Christian. You seem like you are a new creation in Christ and trying to find your way.
@tanishastidwell6316Ай бұрын
I love Jerry man. He always bring the heat with an immediacy. To me, to be Lukewarm is to hold tightly on to things that are not of God because you don’t trust God enough to reward you for your obedience. As a Christian, you’re saying your relationship is with Christ. So to be a Lukewarm-Christian is to be in an additional relationship with something else and to put that before your relationship with Christ.
@mariansanders8614Ай бұрын
In addition, I've never liked how the woman at the well is described. She was NOT thirsty in the manner that she's portrayed. In that time, husbands were allowed to get rid of their wives for ANY reason. If one day, she "burnt the food", he could put her away...but what PRIMARILY caused a woman shame was to be put away if they were BARREN. If they could not give a husband a child...a male child at that, that was the biggest shame. Jesus mentioned she had 5 husbands from a compassionate place, to let her know "I see you", "I know you" AND I have something better than the water you're here for. Her encounter with Jesus didn't ADD shame, it REMOVED the shame. #LivingWater

Conviction is what takes you out of this type of status - it is written, But, first seek the Kingdom and his righteousness and all things will be added.
@ancientsage1969Ай бұрын
Lukewarm is not a phase. You're either on fire for Christ and seeking after him or you are not. These guys need to ask to have their heart to be revealed to themselves. When God convicted me concerning a thing. I am obediant immediately. Now made aware I can not deny. When I was corrected concerning sex outside of marriage. I let it go. First for 8 years and now 10. My attempt to have a relationship cost me my honor to Christ. And though I am once again walking alone. Doesn't mean I can't be lukewarm concerning it. Because it is 100% about my heart for Christ and the Kingdom. However can someone come along and tempt me away. I say no. But only God knows my heart.

Praying for you brothers. You have accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and you are NOW the righteousness of God. Continue allowing Christ to mold you into His image and likeness.
