~~ In Search Of... ~~ If you were part or knew someone that was part of "The Pleasure Crew" in any way shape or form during the Dead's run, It would make my year if I could borrow a few minutes and have a conversation of the highest order of love. I think it's time to share the story if you will allow it. It very much seems like a you had the funnest, craziest life following the band while ingesting the cream of the crop cleanest and most powerful "appetizers & main courses"... Professional partiers of the kindest nature. I think people would be more than a little shocked to hear your adventures lol. Not as glorification of drugs or the like but more towards seeing infinity at your front door as well as making the unknowable common language. Magic, miracles, music and the munchies. Thank you and here's hoping you can find a few minutes to shoot me an email. Much love and remember, no turn left unstoned & it's always 10 to 5 in the land of Zonk or something similar. Love, tpace. contact: skyscout@live.ca

I was born in 1972, just in enough time to catch some shows in 1991, 92, 93, and then I saw the 2 nights in Memphis Tennessee where I grew up. Ironically those were not very long until we lost him, in 1995. You know what? People who have anything negative whatsoever to say about Jerry Garcia number 1, they don't know him and never were blessed to meet him. Great guy, what an easy dude to like I see why everyone loved him. An American treasure in my opinion. Miss ya Jerry! 😢

you and I have a lot in common brotha'. Born in '72 ; 1st show in Buffalo 1990, my last show at the Pyramid in Memphis on April Fools & the 2nd which for a '95er was very good. Unbroken encore. I miss him too, everyday. Peace & Nugs.

@13:57 LMAO ! Good ol' Jerry Garcia making me laugh again all these years later . I was a kid when this interview aired I missed the part about the origins of the tune Bertha , and now I shall never ever hear that song the same way again . I can so totally see Jerry telling that fan as it propelled itself into him " Bertha , don't you come around here any more " HAhahahaha , now the whole song and words will take on a whole new meaning . Thank You Mr. Garcia for being you , you nut . LOL . I could totally see them making a whole song about a crazy fan .

Powders of various sorts..maybe we all did too much too fast. Drummer in my band worked at fancy hotel - he called me and my buddy to come down to bar And we Loaded up. Stayed in their rooms till 5am. Fun stuff. Bobby was gracious while Phil went to bed 3am.. couple beautiful blondes -Bobby's good friends. We said our gbyes. A nite to remember Fer sher.

That's cool that they didn't write a set list before the performance. Must explain why the gigs where so magically spontaneous and flowing.

In one interview, Bobby would come up with a couple, and Jerry would come up with a couple to start the shows going /starting their sets rolling out and then off into the open ranges of the vast majority of their shows in freestyle

Absolutely you have hit the bullseye on it. Now I do think they did certain songs on certain days or certain places they were.. such as at my Memphis shows they did "Stuck inside of Mobile with the Memphis blues again" and like doing US blues on the 4th of July.. Know what I mean? 👍✌️😎

It's partly that, and partly what strong opiates do to the voice. I think it makes the vocal cords really loose and relaxed, and the voice sounds like you just woke up.

They were always high on their latest album releases. Whether it was somewhat disingenuous or not.....likely to a degree, I'd say. Then, once they're able to put some distance between the new album, they tended to be pretty hard on the production, producer etc etc.

@@humanbeing2420 Exactly. Phil and Jerry did the same-even more so - years later with "Built to Last". After that sales period ended, they were all saying how they should've stuck with the "In the Dark" recording method, and felt the latest effort was lifeless and did the material no justice.

I mean it kind of is. Not to disparage their other work but Go to Heaven has their best playing on a studio record if not their best songs or most cohesion as a group.
