17 jaar geworden... in café De Kempen in Averbode. En deze schijf werd ons door de twee cafedochters door de strot geramd. ... 47 jaar geleden. Je vergeet het nooit.

Hoe is het mogelijk dat zo'n prachtplaat amper 54007 hits heeft. Was de plaat al vergeten, daarnet terug gehoord op de radio. PRACHTIG. Ik was amper 10 toen deze hit werd uitgebracht

This song has a little bit of an Arthur Alexander sound to it- "Go to him". I dig the Max Crook's Musitron sound of the synthesizer that was used in Del Shannon's"Runway"

Wait.......... Let me be clear, are you Jerry's daughter? Because I have searched years for what happened to Jerry. I ask this because the song intrigued me as a kid, it is one of my earliest childhood memories that my parents "fed" me as a kid. Several times I wrote an alternate story, where Carol married, and he lived in the neighbourhood, and always admired her from a distance, cause he wanted her to be happy.... I have made a beautiful Polaroid picture of this text. I would be delighted if you would be so kind to respond me on this message. Thanks a lot. Whiii!!!!!!!

Hi Synthia. Today, I found out that your father died in december 2020. I want to pay my respects to you and your family. After searching deep on the internet, I finally found out his full name... To find out that he passed away... His voice, his song, his sound was played a lot here, in Belgium, and as a kid, his voice was engraved in my eardrums... Thank the Lord for that voice... Sad to say that I figured out his name too late (so few information on the internet that led me to his name), cause I really badly wanted to let him know personally how I loved his song... Keep him close in heart, he will never be forgotten.......

La version chantée par Johnny HALLYDAY "Johnny Lui Dit Adieu" sortie en 1965 chez Phlipps, est tout aussi merveilleuse. Pour moi, cette chanson, chantée par Johnny ou par Jerry, demeure l'une des 4 ou 5 plus belles chansons d'amour des 80 dernières années (When a man loves a woman, Bring It On Home to Me, Loving you, ...). .

Pas mal ? C est la version originale chanté en 1957, et 10 fois mieux que la translation de mon compatriote Halliday, qui est né en Belgique.

Version originale! Autre-chose que la copie de m** de "Johnny Halliday" aka Jean-Philippe Smet qui ne connaissait même pas le solfège. Perso, j'ai cette version de Jerry Jackson en 45 tours (rpm) , je ne prends que les VO, rarement les copies "traduites" en français; bande d'ignares que ceux qui ne sont pas capables de composer une de leurs chansons.
