Both he and cousin Mickey Gilley died last year. Posting 1-29-23. In fact, a year ago at this time, all three of the men pictured were still living. Mickey died May 7 and Jerry Lee died 3 months ago yesterday. Wherever those two are now, here's hoping they're rockin' out!

He started out as a preacher apparently and then when they asked him to play piano his rock n roll instincts took over so they threw him out and he turned fully to rock n roll. When Jimmy Swaggart was starting out he was skint so Jerry Lee his cousin bought him and his wife a brand new car to help them out. Jesus has never left him !

We go to a little Baptist Church just south of Natchez Mississippi and our little old lady piano player resembles his playing style. My favorite part of church listening to her play. Its about 30 miles from where Jerry was raised.
