Once again proving there's no song that jerry lee lewis can't do great. He's as good a song stylist as we ever produced here in the good old u.s. of a. And we've damn sure never had a better one. Holy moses.

Every musician is feeding off each other- AND the drummer (Ron Norwood) is really setting the pace- STRONG beat and right on AND Jerry is way "OUT THERE" and laying down some real hot lines, and brother his vocal is pure JERRY LEE- the best that ever pounded the ivory!!

I think Elvis' roots were gospel and it could be heard in his music; Jerry Lee was rock N' roll from beginning to end...
@AnnaLVajda5 жыл бұрын
He was a preacher before he was a rock star his cousin was Jimmy Swaggert (sp)? so Jerry certainly had roots in gospel and his talent WAS God given. Elvis just had a different image than Jerry but I don't think he was any less a sinner he had young girls in his bed popped pills and cheated on his wife Elvis was no Saint.

I like this. Jerry was hardly a low-energy kind of guy. But I don't get the people saying he is a great pianist. ANY professional pianist (rock, jazz or classical) has way more skills than Jerry. Listen to any famous jazz pianist playing this song (say Oscar Peterson). Or any classical pianist playing La Campanella. Or if you want to stay in rock, even Billy Joel would have Jerry on toast on the skills front (e.g. Angry Young Man, Scenes from an Italian Restaurant).

whatsmylogin not even close. You have a lot of listening to do. His improvisation skills are unmatched and he can play ALL genres of music.

He's self taught and slightly magical.
@j.d.f.62813 жыл бұрын
Jerry Lee Lewis is self taught not trained....Billy Joel has a lazy left hand compared to Jerry Lee and if you weren't deaf and blind you would know that. And when it comes to professional, as you put it, you won't find a true pro that would ever say something as stupid as you did about Jerry Lee. Oh....and Oscar Peterson is great....he didn't adapt and do a 3 minute version with vocals on it, but that just makes him different....not better. My God i pray for your ignorance.
