No doubt about it, one of country's best pickers. In my opinion in this time and era of the video, no better pickin performers could top Jerry, Chet and Roy Clark.

I done heard at least 50 different versions of the Alabama Jubilee. But I’ve Never heard anybody do as well and skillful as Jerry Reed.

Every time I hear and see this particular video, it still blows me away. I play guitar, banjo and harmonica. These boys are world class musicians. Picking out of this world, and fiddling too.

Ever since finding out the index finger on his right hand was damaged and not used I can’t get over how he plays like this. Its insane what he does without that finger! He is one talented sob!

I'll always remember having the privilege to hank out and jaw with and sing with Jerry and his band when he invited me to come up to the first class cabin with him on a flight from Florida to Atlanta back in the 70's

damn!! i just realised who this was tonight, loved smokey and the bandit as a kid, but only found, by chance, jerrys breakdown and realised how feckin good he was on guitar!! and that he's no longer with us. RIP Jerry!!

Jerry Reed was one-of-a-kind, that's for sure. A real musician's musician, and a heck of an entertainer. I'll admire the man as long as I live. I have pretty much the same opinion about Roy Clark, actually.

The banjo player is Fred Newell, who also played with Waylon Jennings and Barefoot Jerry at the time. In the mid-1970's Bela Fleck was probably still in high school in New York.

Jerry is one of 4 people certified by Chet Atkins as a CGP.(Cerified Guitar Player). This Video shows why he earned that honor. He is having way too much fun. Great video-Thank you for posting this!!

Is that Fred on the banjo? A steel playing friend of mine said it was him but I disagreed. I guess he was right. I never knew Fred played banjo. Jerry always was my favorite and this proves it over again for me. I miss this era of music.

That's the great Terry Mcmillan on the harp. He passed away last year. There's some good stuff on here of him.

found it. it's from the album "country music hall of fame". but that's not what i was hoping for, im looking for any recording of jerry reed's version, which is clearly the best, imo. and he has several versions, and i of course only want THIS version, because it's so unbelievably awesome :)

Banjo player looks just like Clint Strong, a guy who played guitar for Merle Haggard in the 80s. Not sure if it's him but striking resemblence.
