Jerry sounds very similar to my ex boyfriend whom I loved very much. He was a New Yorker, Irish, cranky, well educated and didn’t feel like he needed anyone and marriage wasn’t his thing. I’m cranky but I don’t really like to show it because I empathize with other people. The way I show that I’m not in the mood is to stop talking and just do my thing. If you insist on being in my face then there’s going to be a problem.
