Proof positive that remembering our own and listening to other people's history informs our opinions. What a blessing to hear Jerry's lived experience. Comparing mine to his helped me realize that we are truly more alike than different. Hearing others recount their story helps us better understand our neighbors. Thanks, Chris. Great discussion.

I was surprised how insightful Jerry Springer is. I also didn’t know how affected his family was by the holocaust. I was a college student when his show began and the Donahue show. They were so different from the usual talk shows featuring famous people. He simply and concisely explained the rise of MAGA better than anyone I heard and it’s analogies to 1930s Europe. Keep up the good work with people all across the spectrum. 👍🙏 Keith in Chiang Mai

Thanks, Jerry for seeing the bigger picture. I am African American who has experienced every type of discrimination possible, yet I still believe in the American dream and trust those with open minds and love in their hearts will make this country a place of freedom for all, eventually. I like your points of view. I also can see the value of Chris's counterpoints which makes us think of the majority's fears and respect those fears.

@jerryspringer has this rare talent to put himself in other people’s shoes, but in a way that I myself can understand. I guess it is due to an extreme sensitivity which makes you feel other’s pains….other’s extreme situations reach your inner you like if you were living it yourself … empathy and beyond! Thank you Chris. Keep on bringing Guests who can only improve our vision of the future meaning that lots of Americans are healthy minded & yes the world is in turmoil but we have to believe & have confidence that hope is still our moto. America always came back on its feet in history… no reason not to believe that America will come back….but we Americans have our part & responsibility to get back there…🇫🇷🇺🇸

Thank you so much for this interview. Finally. It had to be said. While so many others... especially in politics are short of admitting... It had to be said by an acclaimed white person such as Jerry who has interacted with people in all walks of life and for someone like Chris to concur with his observations regarding the current state of this country. Jerry hit the nail right into the pulse of this country. It's so sad to hear it but I believe that it's the absolute truth. Profound fear is what has divided us. So where do we go from here?

Outstanding show, Chris. Springer is a deep thinker and you nailed it by asking him for a talk. Can I make one suggestion, though? That weird blue, yellow, orange, red fuzzy background of what I guess is supposed to be a cityscape looks exactly like CNN's when Piers Morgan had the failed replacement show for Larry King. Change to something else. Just a suggestion. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

I was coming home from a background acting job at 20th Century Fox Studios. Back then I commuted on the bus. When I arrived at my neighborhood, an LAPD cruiser, parked on my street, shined their searchlight at me. I gave the officers the middle finger. The cop driver barked back, "Is there a problem?" To which I said, "F**k you!" Then he said, "We responding to a call about trouble in the area." Note: I live near Silver Lake. I was still dressed in my cameras clothes (a nice business suit). I was carrying a garment bag with my other camera clothes. I was furious. I scolded them, "I'm walking back to my condo which is completely paid for (no mortgage)." I hope California makes good on Reparations.

Jerry Springer, was a spring chicken just years ago... I'm getting old. I remember when, Oliver knew, when he was talking with the Iranians about getting the hostages back, he knew, deep down, people deserve better than to be treated like military arms. It’s a distinction without a difference as far as we should have been concerned.

I always remark how our Trump party is like the Jerry Show. Depravity for popularity. It was interesting listening to Jerry’s take and tying in ‘the leftovers’ on his show and current constituency on the right. I love Jerry Springer and what he is saying and perspective discussed. Chris given the fancy upper middle-class NY community he lives in of rich yt people who are lamenting their kids not able to get into a good school even though their kids got good grades in school or SAT scores. I don't shed an OUNCE OF TEARS FOR YOUR NEIGHBORS, RELATIVES OR COLLEAGUES whining about their yt kids aren't Black football players and Basketball players to EASILY get into college. THEY GOT THEIR $$ TO GET THEIR KIDS INTO ANY SCHOOLS THEY WANT TO GO TO. Or new twist they can go to another school or go to (YIKES) community college to decide what the hell they want to do taking electives of interest which is a good cost efficiency factor. And that's ok if not Ivy League U know. By the way Chris they sound like bigots to me even if your racial blind spot perspective says they aren't. I mean why do they equate that the only way Black kids get into college is through sports? Sounds like stereotyping to me 🙄. Jerry Springer is a great man with good dialog and I enjoy him very much. He got me through my late 90s college years when I needed a respite from my studies.😂.

I understood, his point is the tirany from which my parents took me to US to survive is the same I Percibe nowadays is taken place in 🇺🇸 for cultural reasons. In my opinion, having a 🇺🇸 in your front door or car means nothing if you haven’t understood what those two wars, Civil Rights achieved thanes to 3 great human beings assassinated and hundred of afroamericana as great as well. They learnt nothing. The point is not 🇺🇸, but to respect the Constitution, ergo the Social Contract. I see confusion, frustration and lack of education which have to be seriously canalize through knowledge that has to arrive to each part of the country. Even more those places far from big cities and where closed cults are frequently alive. Having the diagnostic, Education , Knowledge is the answer. Barenboim is a Music 🎵 Director born in Argentina. Lives in ISA but has a great idea: Show the world the racism is a mental construction. In fact, made an orchestra integrated by Jewish and Muslims. The challenge is demostrare that mental construction can be replace for a constructive one. Thanks Chris -

Hello Chris: His parents were the only who survived. Two World Wars. Because of racism. We as civilization haven’t learnt. His family made the right decision and he could have a life and be teaching through his experiences. The point is: WARS kill and destroyed worth human beings. He is an alive example of that. I was astonished when he told where he was born and under which circumstances. I think of 🇺🇦 and the babies who were born recently and the children. That should have never happened. It seems were happening in another planet. In 50’s time there will be men and women telling a journalist “I was born in 2022 in a basement in Kiev” Every day I wish so. Thanks. Chris-
