Thank you. My wife and I used to keep our potatoes in a large stainless pot with a lid thinking we were protecting them from the light ..These are store-bought Idaho potatoes usually, five or 10 pound bag, and we would also keep them in the same pot with the lid with any onions we bought. So I learned never keep potatoes near onions or bananas or garlic, keep them ventilated, and never store them in plastic from your video. Thanks

Potatoes: - Cool dark place ( cool doesn't mean fridge lol) - In a paper bag preferably and leave the top open. - They can last 3-6 months. - Never store near onions , bananas or apples because these things produce some gases that are not good for potatoes. - Never store in sunlight.

Unfortunately for me putting them in a dark dry place not in the fridge only invited cockroaches! i had a terrible experience recently. Prior to that - with my bigger fridge I now regret getting rid of I kept potatoes in one vege compartment drawer and other stuff in the other drawer - but outside of the fridge in a paper bag did definitely not work for me - it worked for the roaches though!

@@jerryjamesstone Ha - well that is pretty much what I said - I didn't do it because of your tip btw - somewhere else I had seen the same thing - maybe it's humidity in different countries etc. Or they just did it to bug me...hahaha - so fridge in the crisper drawer separated from other things is what I do now - I have them in a plastic bag that has holes punched through at random places - that seems to work - I reckon it could be how your fridge behaves too...:) Maybe type of potato too?
