I think Apple might be getting whats it has coming for sometime now with the iPhone 8 batteries expanding. don't get me wrong I have a iPhone 7 plus but now I've started to realise that they just increase the price not to include new features but to make heavy profits. I know as a business you need to make profit to stay in business but when you are making more than 100% of profit, I feel no remorse making a comment like this
@__No___2237 жыл бұрын
iPhone 8 batteries are not expanding lol. And Apple definitely does not make more than 100% profit. They give you a better deal than Samsung does. It costs around $420 for the parts of the iPhone X. It only costs around $300-$310 for the Note 8 parts. iPhone X is $999, Note 8 is $969. If you include the fact that there’s more manufacturing, marketing, and shipping costs for Apple than for Samsung, you see that Apple gets much less per phone than Samsung does.
@sudhirfriendkumar257 жыл бұрын
Whimsical Penguin .. Apple has officially acknowledged the battery issue.
@tabamon977 жыл бұрын
dude i am late to the party... but my iphone 7 battery expanded last year too... its normal... plus HOW DO YOU THINK THEY COULD MAKE 100% PROFIT? LOL
@riadriguez56497 жыл бұрын
Whimsical Penguin you're not getting a better deal from apple than samsung lol, what does marketing have to do with getting your screen repaired? From what i know you do pay shipping when shipping your iphone to get it repaired. Manufacturing? Yeah because they would have to get the OLED displays from samsung which samsung been making displays for apple for years now. Every iphone 8 and X sold, samsung get $110. You get much more less on sammy phones when you dont need to spend $80+ dollars for something you should have in the box when you buy the phone. Crazy too is the back glass on the iphone x cost $500+ dollars to replace.
@javianbrown86277 жыл бұрын
No problem is when something brakes on the iPhone it costs half the price of the phone to fix. Also it's actually more expensive to make a phone that has a headphone jack waterproof than a phone without it.

Another great teardown, thanks Zac. I doubt I'll be buying this. I simply don't like the recent tendency for phone manufacturers to build their phones with glass backs. Asking for trouble. Also if they insist upon no removable battery then I will INSIST upon the easy replacement of such. Not this heavily glued up impossible to open crap! So whatever phone has the easier battery replacement (as well as keeping the headphone jack) will get my dough.

Think it would be cool to do a stress test/benchmark on each phone and include the thermal imaging while the stress test is going. After a few generations of phones we would have a good understanding of what works and doesnt work in mobile phones' heat dissipation (and perhaps why), and of course the stress test results.

Hello! I left a comment on your last video about you doing a video on an LeEco S3. Will you be doing a teardown/ durability test?
@awadhi6867 жыл бұрын
Hey Jerry I love your vids and learn a lot from them! I wanted to ask you for the note 8 I know that it scratches on a level 5-6 I think you said, but I also remember that you said that some particles can potentially scratch the screen I think. My question is, can regular dust potentially scratch the screen if the dust is located under the screen protector after installation?
@awadhi6867 жыл бұрын
I mean scratches at a 6-7 from your scratch test
@walkermorales3377 жыл бұрын
awadhi686 yea it can since dust will likely have a bunch of other stuff that's harder than glass which is why a phone screen will likely have a bunch of micro abrasions and scratches over time without a screen protector, although it's nearly impossible to prevent anyway

I have black pixels at the left top of my phone, tiny, and i have broken my glass. i want to switch the glass to a new one, but im worried that the dead pixels "grow" like you shown us on the GalaxyFold. its waaaay cheaper than switching the display. can i do this without "growing" the dead pixels?
