Hey Jerry...or Jack...or Zack... whatever...... Since I am a Mechanical Design Engineer, the spring in the front camera mechanism is part of what is called "Fail Safe Design". A moving front camera mechanism design follows one of two modes of failure: either Fail Open; or Fail Close. Since nobody wants his camera to stop functioning should a malfunction takes place in conjunction to the front camera mechanism, a spring is added to the mechanism so the failure follows a "Fail Open" mode. The spring also keeps the front camera open even if you applied force to close it during normal operation with no malfunctioning taking place, and thus only the stepper motor can retract the front camera back into its grove when not in use. 😉

3 years later: Battery still going strong 6.30/7-ish hours screen time. Not as good as new phones these days but it's still great for aging phone. Pop-up front camera is the best (for people like me, who only uses front camera for calls). Sadly they doesn't make phones with front pop-up cameras anymore... If nothing happens to the phone till under display cameras (with decent quality) becomes a thing in a year or two then gonna keep it till then. 128/6gb model.

@John Doe while i dont know about the first part of ur comment, i cant seem to confirm this he did have drugs in his system, and underlying heart issues as well, which are both indeed big factors in his death however the knee in the neck definitely did trigger a response from his body that resulted in death.... to further compare this, if i snatch an old woman's purse and she dies during or shortly after because of a heart attack caused by me snatching her purse i would still be convicted for as well homicide and not just theft < so doing something that results in death because of a bodily response is still murder, even if that something you are doing is normally not deadly at all so.... yea.... no.... still murder ... why was he knelt on the neck for anyways, not a single cop i know says that kneeling in someone's neck is regular procedure but ok, lets give them the free kneeling on necks for no reason card, after he lost consciousness there was no reason to keep kneeling.... so no... still... murder... now dont get me wrong, i dont think these protests should be about race, but definitely about how police treat people in general they get trained so aggressively they forget they are fking over the people they were supposed to protect that and we maybe need to reassess how we deploy police all together, like do we need to send legalized killers to deal with a counterfeit accusation at a store when no aggression is present? maybe we could also use another department to police the police... since there's bound to be mistakes, which is fine but they have to get fixed... else it just escalates oh and no, this was no mistake, this was still murder ...
