Honestly they're all too blame. Alex is to blame for continuing to pursue a woman who has made it clear that she isn't interested in him. Cat is to blame for using her best friend Alex who is in love with her to get back at Dakota for being too controlling. Dakota is to blame for pursing a girl that his cousin is in love with.
