Having a harsh upbringing is no excuse for the things he did as an adult. There's no way you can defend that. My pops was in and out of jail... I was doing wild shit. I decided one day to just join the Navy. Ain't tell nobody except for my moms. Did 8 years and not once did I come back to visit Harlem (grew up) during that time... literally left all of that shit behind me. 2007 - 2018...after I got out, I stayed in VA a few more years. Moved back to Manhattan and after 6 months, I got the fk up outta there. I hardly recognized friends and areas I used to chill at. Been in Texas since 2019.

They Navy broadened my horizons, opened me up to new experiences, gave me the means to be a better man, save money, travel the world, pay for college, buy a home. I don't think I would've accomplished any of that had I stayed in NYC. No one has to be a product of their environment. We all have choices... simple as that.
