Building Fire - Williamstown - Gloucester County - Multi-Alarm
Around 9:45 PM, March 7, 2024 Williamstown (Monroe) Township in Gloucester County was alerted to a building fire at an old abandon warehouse. The warehouse was around 93,000 ft.² first arriving officers reported fire showing from the C side. Due to this being a rural area with no hydrants in the area, tanker task forces were quickly requested to the scene. Task forces from Atlantic and Salem county responded to the multi alarm fire which quickly went above three alarms. Fire officers reported heavy fire throughout the large warehouse facility. Four ladder pipes are put in service with a fill site just down the block. Crews were on scene several hours all night and into the morning to battle the blaze and finally got a good knock on the fire. The cause of the fire is unknown and no further information is available at this time.

Sounded kinda like the squak box from Emergency there at the beginning. You knew when that thing went off for anything over 10 seconds, stuff was about to get serious for Squad and Engine 51. Impressive RAC rig they got there! Excellent work with the drone as usual!

Hello and many greetings from Germany First of all: A huge thank you to all firefighters, not just the American ones, all firefighters all over the world, for the very often dangerous job they do. This was the first time I saw that a fire department had a mobile canteen. Could we get more information about this vehicle? I would be particularly interested in the supply capacity. And at the same time, kudos to the unit that maintains such a vehicle. It's always all too easy to forget how important this vehicle is to the forces deployed. Therefore, a big thank you to this unit that owns and operates this vehicle. The Lady

A canteen is commonly not owned by a fire department due to taxpayer funding being much more needed to go for other safety related equipment. This part of the country will tax the citizens to the extreme and throw away the money on a canteen for a fire department. The upkeep on that thing would be expensive, adding to the fact it would rarely be used. In more sane parts of America, the local RedCross chapter will pay a local food truck operator to set up a canteen when there is a larger fire to contend with, and the red cross will pay for the food.

I never cease to be amazed how municipalities and counties allow structures such as this to be constructed without a source of water that can provide ready water to multiple fire apparatuses and sprinkler systems. Internal sprinkler systems use a lot of water and will run a well dry in a matter of minutes. It's a wonder that an insurance provider would even consider covering such a structure.
@scottrobinson3353

I tend to agree with you. A structure that big in a rural area should have been made to have their own water supply or not even allowed to be built in that area.

Well, of course all these tanker trucks are needed due to a shortage or even absence of fire hydrants close enough to the response site! No wet stuff to put on the hot stuff means to sit and wait for the fire to go out by itself! I wonder why water supply is a problem in industrial areas, where fires may have dire consequences, as opposed to "ordinary" building fires. Otherwise these firetrucks are just awesome! Did I spot some yellow trucks? I had always thought fire trucks are red! All the best! Oh, I forget: great drone footage at 5:50!
