0:44 one thing I learned a while ago was to not sit on the nozzle. Give yourself about an arm's length and control the hose from that point. It allows better control over the nozzle and your chances of losing control diminish quite a bit
@LindaFirefighter037 ай бұрын
Right. Put the end of the nozzle the palm of your hand then push the hose forward until your arm is stretched out straight. Grab the hose with your other hand. Now its is in the right position.

Oh my goodness! They're supposed to smoke the meat, not the building. All joking aside, is there any indication as to what caused the heavy smoke from about 3:40 to 4:40 or so? That was some serious billowing stuff. Was that a mix of steam from the water hitting the fire and smoke, or just smoke pushing out from wind or.....?
@thejfrd24907 ай бұрын
The pressurized smoke/steam was a result of the ladder pipe being shot into the building to put the fire out (hence the steam) the volume of water caused for hydraulic ventilation which forced the smoke and steam out.

Did they try and push in? Or just smash all the windows? Look at the neutral plain in those window openings. Feeding a huge amount of fresh air into that structure. The smoke is lazy, not turbulent or really pushing which would indicate a smaller fire for the size of that structure.
