My neighbour once asked me 'Your living room is the same size as mine, how many rolls of wallpaper did you buy to decorate it?'. 'Twelve' I replied. A few days later he saw me again and looked pretty annoyed. He said 'I just finished decorating and have seven rolls of wallpaper left!'. I said 'I know, so do I!' 🤣🤣

Love the wallpaper. Once again I can see the tropical rainforest with it. I'm so sorry about the issues with the clock mechanism. As you said, of course it had to give you issues. It's like when you are in a hurry to get somewhere, there always seems to be a traffic jam or something else like a detour. Not to worry though, we all understand about these things. Wonderful video, and I hope we can figure out what's happening with the wallpaper warping, overflow. Have an awesome day! 🕑

Hey Claire, I think you should seal the paper with modge podge or similar product. Especially the back where it touched the jesmonite

heyyyy James ... a few have suggested it I will do a littel tester because Jesmonite does not pick up much so I am thinking if the surface isnt porous it wont but I can do a tester x

This is the cutest! I love this mold, and the coasters mold, and how you used them!! I wonder if just a damp rag would clean up the wallpaper where the jesmonite got on it. What do you think? I hope to be able to try jesmonite myself sometime. Thanks for sharing!! Happy Creating!!!!

Use plaster of Paris maybe for templates for large moulds. Also I kinda feel the paper is warping with the moisture from the jesmonite and bubbling up pushing into it leaving the impression as it sets
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
that is such a good idea to use plaster xx thank you so much
@Trueo9re Жыл бұрын
You might need to pre-wet the paper on both sides since paper stretches when it's damp. Cockling/buckling is common with artists when using paper.

Aw that really is beautiful wall paper, it's giving me Linda Carter from Eastenders 🤩 missing the flamingos tho.. I giggled a lot in this video my terribly in appropriate sense of humor got the better of me, I dont know how u kept a straight face/didn't giggle yourself 🤭🤭🤭 im sad that the paper warped again, I wonder if you Jesmonite(d) first and then placed the paper on top, followed by modpodge and then sealed it? There must be some reaction between the heating up of the Jesmonite and the moisture in behind the paper thats causing it to warp?, maybe the moisture created when the Jesmonite heats up to set, is trapped under the paper. Im so excited to see how you over come it, im sure you will do, pure tenacity to not give up. Also I love that you guys finally got a dog 🐕 can't wait to meet her hopefully you will introduce her to us all. 💕 xx

Haaaaa Paul I was laughing with you ... unfortuanetly they are not known by any other name haaaaa I certainly think there is a corrlation between the Jesmonite and heat and moisture and the silicone ... I have tried it again and its perfect but it's different method and cheap silicone moulds and thankyooooo so much Paul yeh he is testing us today .. he is not a fan of crate training but he get there :)

Hi Claire, love this idea….. it got me thinking 🤔 do you know if decoupage would work on Jesmonite? Xx

It could be that as jesmonite sets it shrinks very slightly and it could be pulling the paper as it cures creating that dent/rivet? Lovely piece though xx
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
heyyyy Sharon yes it totally could be that too x its so hard because I have made a few now with no issue xx]
@texas83222 жыл бұрын
Did the top left area peel off with the demolding? Also, maybe going with pouring in mold at a slower rate will prevent paper from deforming. Like spot pouring a little jesmonite north, then east, etc... until it's full. This may mean using a much smaller strainer. it just seems to me like any air under the paper isn't allowed to escape from under the paper before the jesmonite covers edges. Very similar to bubbles forming with window tinting.
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
That could absolutely work Thomas .. I hadn't had a problem before ... apart from the cups .... so I just poured as I normally would :)
@lesleywilliams58772 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem with the channels when I used scrapbook paper in the trinket tray mould - my first one was perfect but the next three had channels. I cannot work out why either.
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
Ohhh Lesley so it sounds like you had the exact same problem but with the opposit moulds :( its a mystery for sure x
@resinbydrew7412 жыл бұрын
Claire, does Jesmonite damage the shine or anything on moulds? Is it better to use old moulds and keep the shiny, new ones for resin, or does it not make a difference? Thanks for great videos and great ideas but I don't want to risk my best moulds and try some ideas out without checking first.

Hi. Love love the clock design. You said it was just going to sit on your window or something. If you wanted to hang it on the wall what’s the best way to do it and make it secure? Thank you 😀
@ClairesCraftyCorner2 жыл бұрын
Heyyy Michelle ... When I made a clock before ... I added some chain in to the back before it cured or you could add some twine or Rope ... my clock mechanisms also come with wall hangings so you could place those in before it gets dry :)
@michelleadams73122 жыл бұрын
Lovely thank you. I saw the clock you did with the chain just wanted to make sure whatever I used like that would actually be strong enough to hang. I made a cake stand and thought it would be perfect for a clock with the hole already being there after seeing your video. So, thank you for giving me another item to make. Without your videos I would be so bored ☺️

Aww what a shame about the groove left behind the wallpaper. Is it vinyl? I know they recommend for bathroom and kitchen because of the steam just wondering because the jesmonite is on the reverse of the paper heat cant escape, or something like that, I am not an expert in these matters, although I did work for a large diy store for a number of years, if you had asked me back then I would have been baffled lol I still love the design, my clock in my front room is usually wrong, so i wouldn't worry about the mechanism for now, it is art x lol
