In this video .. part 3 of my Jesmonite mini series I am showing you how to make Jesmonite Terrazzo.
This is not a necessary step if you have been doing Jesmonite a while and have lots of left over chips. However, being an absolute beginner I really did need to make some and thought I would share this with you.
If you have not yet seen my Beginner A-Z of Jesmonite video you can watch it here:
• Jesmonite for Beginner...
The second video in the series is how to mix your own colours this was released last night on my channel.
I am using Jesmonite pigments from Resin 8 but pigments are available from other sources.

Reminds me of the powder paints you used to use at school once they were mixed then dried, you could break up like that with the same chalky texture.

Hi Claire. How many grams of each do you use? I always make 2,5:1 ratio, but I find that my terrazzo chips take forever to dry. Like over 2 hours sometimes. I add in White pigment, could that be like case? It happens also when I’m not using that much White pigment
@ClairesCraftyCorner
@ClairesCraftyCorner 3 жыл бұрын
Heyyyy Cecile... oh that is a LONG time ! I'm not sure why it takes that long ... I usually do the 1:2.5 ratio also ... it might be pigment ... the only time mine have taken a long while is when I've added pigment. Try adding the pigment within the 1 ratio ... and not as an extra

Hey! Has anyone used these flakes for he floor also? I was wondering if they are good to go for a terrazzo floor. I am not sure how they will act at the polishing part. Any ideas? Hi Claire. I’m just starting my Jesmonite journey, and want to make terrazzo candle vessels. I read that I should use AC730 bc it’s better for using with heat, but is it possible to make terrazzo chips with the AC730? How about mixing materials, like making the chips with AC100 and the vessel with AC730? Thank you for a lovely video and your help 😊
@ClairesCraftyCorner
@ClairesCraftyCorner 2 жыл бұрын
Heyyy Martine ... yes I have also been told AC730 for candles ... truth is I know loads who make candles from AC100 and make sure that the WICK is at least 1/1.5 inches away from edge but this would very much be a risk to the maker I suppose ... As for mixing I am afraid I do not know ... AC730 needs etching and I don't know what effect this will have on the AC100 x

Hi Claire! I’m planning to start with Jesmonite and these videos for beginners are just what I need! So helpful, so thankyou for that☺️ When you have made the terrazzo chips, do you need to have a lock or store them in an airtight box?
