I'm not even exaggerating when I say a good 50 of these currently 4,825 views are ME. I've been rewatching this vid for weeks, partially because this song is my absolute fave at the moment, but also because your editing always blows me away, there is something so UNIQUE and PERFECT about this particular tribute to Rory/Jess, and just... I have memorized this vid now to the point that when I heard the song outside of your vid I was mentally hearing the voiceovers in the right spots, like 2:49, that instrumental interlude especially, I was hearing Jess's whole monologue lol. I was waiting to comment because... I love this so much, I really really wanted my comment to do justice to just how much I adore this gorgeous vid. The thumbnail even blows me away, or like the unique way the opening titles are done... and the way you manage to vid moments I see in absolutely no other Rory/Jess vids, like 1:15 for instance, "That magic's not here no more", the way you found just the perfect "memory" to edit in to a scene no other Rory/Jess vidder EVER has used as far as I can remember but that actually IS a Rory/Jess scene in canon, like gosh thank you for doing it... ...Those motion-zoom things and also just other blurs throughout look so cool and work so well with the sound of the song btw... ...and how EVERY SINGLE LYRIC is completely 100% matched... I really love the creativity at the beginning for Rory's bracelet being accidentally left on the bridge and how well that matches the spirit of "I left my scarf there, at your sister's house" and how just like the song continues about the guy still having it "even now", he continues to play with it later, like... that was I think the moment when I first saw this vid that made me sure I'd be ESPECIALLY in love with this vid, although who am I kidding? Your Rory/Jess vids are like always SPECTACULAR. Even earlier in the vid, 0:27 with two outdoor scenes worked so well for the air being cold and the way they surprisingly look like parallels, no one else ever would've thought of that! All the bridge parallels were so good, I love how Stars Hollow has multiple scenes that work well for literally matching "autumn leaves" btw, you used a totally different episode than I did when I vidded this ship to that "A Drop In The Ocean" song and the lyric "New England as the leaves change" haha... "And I might be okay but I'm not fine at all" as Lorelai literally asks her "You okay?" and she tearfully says yeah, I mean, way to break my heart there... The Luke squeezing his cheeks moment really captures the feel of the "little kid" lyric and then literally showing a scene where Jess had a twin sized mattress is really great in this vid, really shows how much attention you pay to the details and I just love that every time I rewatch since it's not in any other Rory/Jess vids haha. Also I love how you didn't cut out that verse even when it barely fits them, and you instead really MADE it work, so much so. "Dance around the kitchen" is another one of my favorite lyric matches in this vid. Never before when I heard this song -- and I heard it SO SO many times before seeing this vid of yours here -- had I imagined this kind of scene for it. I always envisioned like actual dancing or something really romantic and I barely think of Luke's apartment and their almost-kiss there as being near the kitchen-area and then you vid it and all of a sudden I realize it works really quite surprisingly well!! The lead up to "You call me up again just to break me like a promise" is SO epic, I never see the waiting for his call in "Face-Off" paralleled with the whole 3x20/3x22 calling-and-hanging up thing, and it just works so well with how she essentially tells him on that final call that he both broke her (with the tone of her voice and how it breaks at the end) and broke all his promises like taking her to prom and graduation etc... I really LOVE artistically the choice you made at 3:54 to leave Rory's "What do you have to say to me" question unanswered for a long while, to just show his face, his thoughts, to not have the "I love you" right then... the tension just builds for me as a watcher of this fanvid haha and I just love the feeling you stir in me when you play with voiceovers in that creative way. The "your hair looks different"/"you remember it all too well" match is so creative and I didn't even remember he commented on her hair in season 2 lol, and like that parallel definitely has never been made before. The final walking away parallels with that really unique "great love of your life" voiceover of Lorelai's just... _sigh_ I'm in awe of this whole video and love every freaking second, as hopefully my essay comment that I FINALLY left you has made clear. :P Thank you for being so talented and for shipping these two as hard as any of us possibly could. ;)
