With a large, foldable cuff like this, I usually sew the cuff on so that the seam allowance ends up on the right side of the hat. It's hidden by the folded cuff but means there's no rough seam around baby's head inside

I have a brand new nephew and niece. And I’ll be making these for them. Do you recommend any stretch fabric at all or does it have to be cotton jersey?

Hi Juliet! Cotton jersey is the softest and perfect for being so close to their skin. But any soft stretch fabric will work. x

How do you get the directional pattern on the cuff to be the right way round!😬

That is tricky, and take practice. The cuff will have to have the print upside down from the inside of the hat, so when you fold it up on itself, the print will be the right way. TIP: Pin it on first and check the direction before you sew, it might need to be turned the other way around. x

Yes and only needed on the main hat pieces. Unless you want larger ears. x

Just downloaded the pattern but do I print on 100% A4 paper??

No just print to 'FIT' so it fits on 1 A4 piece, it can enlarge it if you print at 100% x

The stretch goes horizontal to the grainline of the fabric. x
