Just followed along with you and learned a lot about watercolor, even though this is gouache! I love ghibli and this is from one of my favorite spirited away scenes bc it's so relaxing! Now I have a gorgeous painting to hang in my room. I wanna paint so many more ghibli scenes. It's really helpful to follow along with you to learn how to apply colors and blend them! Definitely wanna paint more this year.

So good to hear you are doing well and able to have this wonderful opportunity for growth and reflection. The best part for me was that you are learning to take care of yourself which is the most important thing of all! Your work is beautiful and so glad you are able to continue with your art as well as Chinese. BTW,I have a daughter who is studying Chinese in Taiwan this year and she also studied abroad in Shanghai while in college. My other daughter is a gouache artist! So, having a few mom vibes watching your video. Good luck and looking forward to watching your tutorials!

I have just started watching your tutorials recently and i'm hooked! You have such a lovely, calming voice and explain everything clearly and simply, i can't wait to try out gouache paintings. If you don't mind me asking, where are you from? I'm not great at placing accents.

Hi!! I love your channel and you have inspired me to start painting with gouache... What gouache would you recommend for beginners-intermediate? Thanks!!!
@pherranine3 жыл бұрын
do you just wipe away the excess paint on your pallette? i feel bad wasting it, do you have any suggestions? beautiful painting as usual and i look forward to seeing more this year! you inspired me to start w gouache:)
@JessChungArt3 жыл бұрын
Yes I do just wash it away! I don't feel that bad because it almost takes forever to use up even a tiny tube of gouache. If you really don't want to wipe it away you can just mix over the top, but your colours will be a little more muted.

Hello🤩love the painting. I wonder how I can create more natural looking colours for landscape design. I feel like there is no way I can mix a natural looking green for example. Can you help?
@JessChungArt3 жыл бұрын
You can mute green by mixing in red, which is the complementary colour to green. Colours on opposite sides of the colour wheel will mute/gray out each other and usually looks more natural. Hope that helps :)

Hi Jess! Is the annual membership option still available on Patreon by any chance? I can't seem to find it anywhere anymore

Unfortunately not! I only had it available for a few months before deciding to take it away as I didn't know if there'd be changes to my Patreon (once I moved overseas) and I wanted to keep things flexible.
