I think explaining the measurements by showing you measuring yourself (bust to ankle) and then transferring it onto the fabric are very useful! However, could you also add that purpose of each measurement to the text on the screen as well? For example, instead of "130cm", the text could say "130cm (bust to ankle)" and it would be more clear. Thank you!
@JessDangDIY5 жыл бұрын

I disagree with you (not because it's fun to disagree with people). It's really useful to see how to make your own measurements when you're alone or that nobody can help you. Plus English isn't my first language and having a visual help like that really help me to understand better the video and I think I'm not the only one to be a non-english speaker to watch her video. I understand your point of view it's a great point of view and I'm not angry or something (I don't want, if you answer back, that you thought I look at you down or something it's not the case !)

Great instructions! I just made this and for anyone interested in making it who doesn’t have a serger to protect the linen from fraying, I did it with French seams and it worked perfectly :) just be careful not to take up too much seam allowance, or add extra to the pattern to be sure it fits. Anywhere I couldn’t do French seams I did double folds or a zigzag stitch to keep it from fraying too much

love this tutorial! I am excited to have discovered your channel :) One thing that is helpful is when you say what materials you are using. For example, you would say "For this tutorial, I am using 2 yards of linen, cotton thread, chalk, a measuring tape, scissors, a serger, and standard sewing machine." the yardage and thread type are especially important! Also many people don't have sergers so letting them know they can reduce fraying with pinking shears or a french seam is also helpful! Your videos are so good and easy to follow. And you are so cute! Can't wait to watch more!

I loved your video! It was really informative and involved with your pattern drafting, more than a lot of DIY videos. I enjoyed that because covering all the small details helped the whole garment make sense. I did get a bit lost between steps though, clear breaks between stages would help my brain, and I would love to see more of the whole garment in progress! As you piece it together, how to check if it's going to fit right, or even just ironing the seams. So I can compare what I have to your piece.... before I sew in a mistake 😅 You're amazingly neat, something I'm not good at as an amateur and really admire - it's hard to learn! I watched your video on a tv using a chromecast, and found that it cut off the video out on the sides of the frame a bit too much. Maybe leaving a bit more empty space when filming would help that? My screen needed a bigger seam allowance! 😅 Much love, and I'm excited to get sewing (and watch your new stuff). My old doona cover is getting a makeover!
