Thank you for the free guitar lesson. Stellar!! I came for a tone switch, but I stayed for your licks. Thanks to the 50% speed option... ;0)

Hi , the amp is actually a fender super reverb clone using a hand wired ab763 circuit , it has the 'Diaz' mods I.e. first valve and term have been disconnected , also it has a post phase inverter master volume...this allows you really crank the amp at lower volumes but still retain a very 'true' sound , it's all subjective tho...this works well for me but you can get a similar or better result with a hot plate type power brake...valves are Sovtec Winged C in the power section and mullard and Phillips pre amp tubes , eq is treble 7 mid 5 bass 4 reverb 3 pre amp vol 7 master 2 . I'll try and do a little demo . Thank you for your comments . Gray ;-))

Best demo. Because you show all 5 way switch sounds. Nice playing, it's probably a good mod.

just one thing, this works with an amp when it's cranked, it's a fantastic switch, the The Kingtone Switch effect is most strong when the amp or pedal is overdriven a little.

...it’s a versatile addition...I doubt your regret it....even if you don’t use it that much it’s always handy to have some tonal flexibility,....it’s a fairly cheap mod too compared to what we pay for amps and pedals ...👍

Would you use this in place of a singular tone control?

Genuinley don't think you need the switch because your 'dry' tone is sooo nice... but it definitely does add depth and dimension, great sound!

Great sound and some killer licks! As someone thinking of installing this it would be great to hear just one lick- a simple Albert King lick played the same with each click of the switch??? Could really hear the differences then!

Oh yeah...I forgot , I've put a 2ohm 15inch weber California in there too...as you can hear tho it's the KingTone switch that really brings out some of those detailed mid rich tones...it really makes the amp sing ;-)

Beautiful tone & playing ! This seems to be a really usefull tool ! Srv / sayce all the Way ! A bit expensive maybe , but deff on my wish list ... As for the amp , amazing drive ! I have a 67 at home with jensen speakers in it , i have done the trem & v1 mods but the master seems to be really cool ! Will work on it ! Or find a good tech ! Thanks !

So I can have 4 different tones in 5 different pichup positions of my guitar's pickup switch? I'm changing the pickups and controls of a strat right now and this is a cool option.

Last year I bought a King Tone Switch and set it on my Stratcaster, but the sound didn't change at all. Does the sound not change no matter how many times I watch the wiring diagram of this setting and the video included in the product case? How much does the sound change? The sound of the Guitar before setting, the method of mounting on the Guitar, the process of mounting work, Please upload a video of the changes in sound after mounting. Is the situation I purchased broken or defective? Or is the change in the sound of this product originally not so great? I'm sure some of you will feel the same way as me. At least please tell me the video and the wiring diagram of the setting that introduces the correct wiring method in more detail.

I ended up getting a 74 100 watt fender vibrosonic with a jbl d130 speaker ..it has had a few mods and sounds pretty good...funnily enough the Torres amp always lacked abit of clean headroom when gigging ...great at lower volumes tho ...

It is just a set of capacitors connected through rotary switch. Anyone can try this effect connecting different capacitors to the guitar's circuit. Without expensive "unique tone switch"... You don't even need to take off your pickguard: just unscrew your cable jack and attach capacitor to jack's connectors. You may start with 1000pf. Then 2000pf and so on. And choose wich you like. I use additional master tone with 1000pf capacitor in my strat. It cuts the top end and boosts some upper mids - very interesting effect. 3000pf capacitor makes single coil sounding closer to humbucker. Well, very low output humbucker :) And with 0.01uf you can play something like "money for nothing" with overdrive. So you can make your own rotary switch with your specs for less than $10 :)

Nope. Kingtone switch has an inductor. Not just capacitors. If only using a capacitor try using a fuzz it's gonna mess with the signal. Kingtone connects to the 1st lug of the volume not the middle lug. If using only a capacitor it just simulates a high capacitance cable which connects to the middle lug of the volume pot. Big difference.
@zvonbackingtracks52642 жыл бұрын
@@rama69satria I didn't know about inductor, that's interesting. I use only small capacitors (1000-2000pf) to boost upper midrange and rolling off some highs. The result is the same as with Kingtone switch. And it's okay to use it with fuzz, I wonder why you had such a problem.
@rama69satria2 жыл бұрын
Oh no mate I have no problem at all 😁 Just clarifying about the Kingtone switch. The 1000/2000pF is for the treble bleed. Yes the Kingtone switch has an inductance/capacitance/resistance. It's an LCR actually. So to mimick the Kingtone switch it requires a resistor/capacitor/inductor. It connects to the first lug of the volume pot. What I meant about that it messes up with the fuzz was if it's only using the "high capacitance cable capacitor trick" using cap values between 1nF-4nF which connects to the middle lug of the volume pot. Many think this method acts the same as if using a Kingtone switch which is very much misunderstood. Mark Foley from MF Guitars is one of the guys that got it misunderstood, he thought the Kingtone switch was only a capacitor acting as a high capacitance cable. I got this info from Jesse himself. Just clarifying buddy. Peace 🙏

Man do you have an Idea how can I install it along with a treble bleed ? thanks

To be honest I really wanted to get this switch (and still might) but in all the videos I have seen... the existing tone was already fantastic due to the boutique pickups installed in there guitars i.e. Bare knuckle, Bluebird j1 etc... and from what I can gather most of the amps have been modded as well. I guess I am wondering if this switch will give me this great tone with just a plain ole set of texmex pups through my little blues junior, or do I have to spring for a set of boutique pups and a modded amp? If so then this switch is very misleading. I love the idea of this switch but I would like to hear from someone without all the special upgrades. Anyone?
@Grayzercaster4 жыл бұрын
...the tex-mex pic ups and blues junior amp are great pieces of equipment ...personally I’d have no hesitation in fitting the tone switch....a lot of the ‘high end’ pic ups and amps with spec mods are really to do with squeezing the last 5% to specific requirement....the switch will work just as well on a mex strat than it will on a custom shop....

Just got the King Tone switch, pulled off the pick-guard on my road worn mex start with tex mex pups and put it (it's super easy to do) on...and I really hate to say this (because I am ever hopeful of cool gear) but this little device is very disappointing...It does actually change different tones with the turn of the switch, but with the simple gear I have it does not give the SRV tone I was hoping for...most of the tones are real muddy and very hard to clean up and the original tex mex tone on my strat is much better just by itself. Once again, (and as I said earlier) to get this tone you are hearing on this site (which is awesome WITHOUT the switch by the way...love your playing and your tone) you will need to get this equipment and make the mods that Grayzercaster has made. No offense to you, brother but all in all, this device (though looking very cool) is too high priced for what it does and you are better off just buying a TS9 or a reasonable facsimile.

You don't know what SRV had in his guitar, as far as electronics and wiring. But, that's not even the point. SRV got his tone by using multiple amps at a time, and playing louder than any of us can afford to play. We also can't afford a real '59/'62 Strat and travel with a tech. I kinda think that if SRV were a hobbyist/amateur/bedroom slayer, and had to get that tone, he'd do the same stuff we're all doing.

90 quid for this ? Hilarious. Probably about £5.89 worth of components and another one of Jesse's design rip offs. My guess is some king of Gibson Varitone circuit. £90 !!!
