Thank you so much for this guide. I was skeptical about doing this since I had no prior soldering experience; however, this tutorial made it easy and now I have a new RCA cable that's internally grounded. Thanks Jesse

Same bro. Made me cringe. I want one of the PCB's though, without the cord attached.

They worked great with my 2 channel pioneer mixer, today i purchased the pioneer xz unit and tried linking my technics into the 2 spare channels on that, absolute no go, thank god i didnt snip off my earth cables as im going to need to feed them back through and use them on the earthing point on the console. Just tuck them in, dont snip them off, you may live to regret it.

Why would you remove the ground? Now the turntable will hum.
@djjammindave Жыл бұрын
THE CABLE HE PUT AWAY IS A PIECE OF GROUND WIRE. THE GROUND WIRE WAS CUT AND A SMALL PIECE WAS USED TO INTERNALLY GROUND THE TURNTABLE. THE TURNTABLE MOST BE GROUNDED. ONE END GOES TO PCB BOARD AND THE OTHER END GOES TO THE PITCH. IF YOU GET HUMM CHECK YOUR SOLDERING WIRES, INCLUDING THE GROUND WIRE.

What is the capacitance of the new cable?
@cajones93307 ай бұрын
I like Jesse Dean but dont cut the ground wire. I just installed on a old MK2 and without a ground theres a noticeable Hum

I changed my old cable like you showed it in this video: Now the sound is more quiet than before. Something is wrong :-(. If I turn the amplifier louder I have a humming. What happened?
@Massifi2 жыл бұрын
Its an bad idea to cut the ground wire, if you use an home audio amplifier :-// You should say that in your video. I sent your item back to the shop, because the sound was worse too. The original board is better. I compared it and the ground humming is a serious problem for people who use home audio amplifiers.

I watched with great anticipation until you flipped it over onto that delicate, precise, fragile tone arm...... that's right where I stopped the video and moved on.

Why would you not use the ground wire?
@tnacrew6 жыл бұрын
Is there a reason you didn't reconnect the ground wire? Is your replacement PCB self grounded or something?

Hey Jesse.Thank u for those pc boards and that super thin wire.i got my 1200 to work.sounds good.Ur awesome.And thank u for the discount

Dude the whole weight on the tonearm when flipped over!
@vacneaussie5754 жыл бұрын
use a couple of blocks of wood to support it if you don't have the cover, thats what I'll be doing soon
@BOKOLIS764 жыл бұрын
Vacne Aussie better the blocks Cover is fragile gets very easily scratched and it’s expensive
@jaycos59783 жыл бұрын
I just replaced my RCA cables with yours. I was hoping it would fix my issue of the sound from turntable only coming out of one side. It’s not the head shell or my mixer. Any other things you could think of that it could be?

Unfortunately very poor quality! The gold plating on a cinch pin came off after a year! I have used the TECHNICS only at home and never puts the cinch cable out.

it doesn't work for me. after soldering I have a humming sound on both channels all the time.
@vettrious4 жыл бұрын
This does not work for home audiophiles, had to put my SL-1300 back to original after I bought one off ebay. You have to have the table grounded to the amp or you will have a deep hum. Especially when you have a cart rated at 5mv like Shure.

@DJJohnny Cruz how do you solder the ground to the negative, in other words how do you know which is the negative wire? I'm a newbie..thanks in advance.
@mjm9102 жыл бұрын
@@vettrious I use more than one amplifier, but I connected the ground to the first one in the circuit - the MM preamp. Should I try to connect to my Marantz or my Yamaha instead? Thanks, Mike.
@djjammindave Жыл бұрын
@@El-brujito THE NEGATIVE IS ALWAYS ON THE EDGE OF BOTH SIZE, REMEMBER MAIN NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE ARE IN THE CENTER.

@Djhomie19643 жыл бұрын
He's too lazy to take care. Tonearm when he flipped over the table it's not a professional at all rule number 1 take care the tonearm because it's the heart of the turntable do the job right or don't do it at all if you want it teaching something do it on the professional way not on the lazy way. Also it's a tool it called a Phillips screwdriver. Do not use power drill on those screws.👎👎👎

when you replace the rca cables do you recommend a kit with an internal ground? does it matter?
