Hello Michael. Did you know that in August it will be 740 years since the creation of the Kalisz Statute in Poland? It was created 1264 and guaranteed Jews personal freedom and security, freedom of religion, trade, and also the existence of Jewish courts and separate courts for matters in which both Jews and Christians took part, etc.

But giving Jews separate courts and administration was a huge mistake. They should be equal to Polish natives in rights and in obeying the rules if they wanted to settle here. Those special rights created unnecessary problems and conserved the division between natives and Jewish immigrants. Not to mention abut too many occasions to abuse the system. Many Jewish administrators got insanely rich by cheating both sides. They, for example, have been collecting taxes for the crown, usually much higher than they really should, so Jewish population might feel exploited by (as they probably thought) Polish kings, but they never passed through those money (even the amount they were legally obligated to) to the royal treasury, effectively stealing huge amount of money from Polish state. It was treason of state that might weaken position of Polish state, cause those money (collected by crown) were usually used to make politics, make alliances, building infrastructure, support war effort and so on.

I once commented on this and my assessment is that anti-Semitism will increase in the USA in the coming years and push Jews out of the USA. it will also be unsafe for Jews in Israel in the coming decades, so I believe there will be a Polish-Jewish renaissance. it is important to come to terms with history together and honestly dismantle prejudices.

@@CR-rm4iy I’m a Lithuanian living and studying in Holland now for 3 years. I used to work for a minimum wage of 400euros in Lithuania and can say that a lot of people look down on us because of it. We are a country of 3million, 2million were sent to siberia or concentration camps. If not for WW2 we would be a country of 10million. Whenever I hear about 300,000 jews that had to leave or died I see that as 300,000 Lithuanians. I work at a hotel during my studies and I have met a lot of jewish people during that and I would always see a smile once I told them I’m from Lita. During my time here in Holland I have seen how people talk about Ukraine and ask the question “If they talk about Ukraine this way, what would they say about a country of 3million”. One time a colleague randomly got angry at me that I only donate money to Ukraine every month and not palestine and said “I wish russia occupies your country some day so you know what it’s like to live in pain”. Now that the war with hamas has started they say “Palestine and Ukraine”, but I don’t believe them. I am thankful for the brave people that stood up to the soviet union and made Lithuania the first country to leave SSSR and now I can live in Europe even though it’s not perfect. I really recommend you check out that song I wrote, even some Lithuanians do not speak so good about Lita.

Michael, Michael, you remain a Westerner at heart. To be Polish you have to be depressingly pessimistic, and to be a Polish Jew you have to be doubly so. Any sensible Pole would treat that as a random spoiled Hollywood celeb trying to curry favor from the locals and then promptly shrugged and return to work. Jesse Eisenberg liked Poland, Angelina Jolie adopted yet another baby, who cares, good for either of them. Sure, I'm kinda joking, but historically foreigners saying nice thing about Poland is platitudes and empty politeness at best, preparation for backstabbing at worst.

Being repressed by the authorities is a Polish national pastime, fear not, you are in good company. Churchill used to say: “You have enemies? Good. That means you've stood up for something, sometime in your life.” Alternatively in Germany they say: "viel Feind, viel Ehr" meaning - “many foes, much honor". Just take care to pick the right battles. This is something that Polish people are either very good or very bad at depending on who you ask.

Polish experience with jews over centuries of coexistence. You need to look at the experience of Poland with jews over the historical time. For Poland this experience was unequivocally negative. You need to go beyond haggada and look for facts. You will find out that, undoubtedly, jews were working against polish people and against polish state over centuries. That manifested itself especially during invasions of Poland and during partitions, where jews were closely working with occupiers at the detriment of Poles. Even in a time of peace, jews were deeply involved into corrupting of political and economic system in Poland that resulted in demise of Poland at the end of 18 century. There were special Jewish organizations with special funds to corrupt and bribe higher level officials. These activities are well documented. It's sufficient to read the Statue of Kalisz to realize how much Poles were discriminated by jews in their own country, that resulted in unspeakable personal tragedies and premature deaths of millions of Poles over several centuries. It understandable that jews want to live in a relatively modern country that Poles rebuilt with so much effort and sacrifice, but it will not be so for long time if jews began to come there again, corrupt it and destroy from within again. It would be a repetition of history. Poland in 14 century was well organized, just, and relatively wealthy. However, after it allowed jews to settle in the second half of 14 century, Poland begun to spiral downwards in social, economic, and political sense due to internal corruption. Additionally, after second world war, jews, who run and controlled Poland, murdered tens of thousands of Polish patriots and hundreds of thousands put to prisons and labor camps. If they want good relations, they should apologize and ask for forgiveness. It is also well known, that jews slander Poland and Poles by false accusations and so called "Polish jokes" whom they invented, and spread it all over the world by Jewish controlled media. They should apologize and pay reparations for the damage they've done to the good image of Poland and Poles. In summary, Poles suffered a lot from jews over centuries in their own country. That experience of coexistence in one country was very negative and tragic for Poles. The lesson from that is: Let's keep these two nations separate. Let Poles live in Poland and enjoy the fruits of their own labor themselves, and let Jews live in Israel or somewhere else, and learn how to build the prosperity through their own labor and not manipulations.
@Frank-xn8bs

If this guy wants to improve relations between jews and poles, he can do it without getting polish citizenship or settling in Poland. Besides, I doubt he will say the truth about detrimental behavior of jews in Poland over centuries. And it's impossible to improve relations without the truth.

You are talking about Christian, Polish, French, Italian or Spanish anti-Semitism - there is no difference, just remember the French roundups (shamefully also from the so-called free zone) or the pogroms of the Middle Ages (Strasbourg , Seville, not to mention the 4th Lateran Council forcing Jews and Muslims to distinguish themselves by their clothing, no time to remember everything... However, as a Pole (with mixed blood reminiscent of the multi-ethnic Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth , I mean, I also have Armenian and Tatar roots), I believe that Jews felt and functioned well for centuries among Poles, I believe better than their existence in other European countries. I hope they feel at home (like Michael) every time they come to my beloved Krakow or Warsaw. There were so many great Polish Jewish artists, scientists and quite often forgotten unfortunately - soldiers. a look please www.aapjstudies.org/index.php?id=62. Greetings
