Jesse Glover started a Gungfu class, Leroy Garcia and James DeMile came and assisted him, which was the first ever independent Jun Fan arts related class. the kindness, listening and attention he gave to these students, as well as this knowledge, his passion and his great mastery of martial arts and Jeet Kune Do in particular, made him a great master, just like his sifu friend Inosanto. their sifu that the world knows under the name of little dragon I speak of course of sifu Lee, master Bruce Lee. I'm sure from heaven that he must be very grateful and very proud of them. ☯️

These guys at times had confusion and a slow time grasping what Jesse was trying to tell and convey to them, because Jesse was a man of few words. He seemed almost shy, similar to Dan Inosanto.

II don't know where that last guy got his info re WC from, but very few of the people I ever trained with focused on the arm when they were trying to strike their opponents - ymmv. Its natural to have that focus when you start learning chi-sao but the goal was always to go straight through whatever guard or striking hands were between you and your target.

When we were trained in mixed styles of Shao lin Kungfu and Pencak Silat our sifu never spoke much either. When excercising punches for instance he would silently correct the position of our fists and arms sometimes moving them up or down a few millimeters then have us do the punch again. If we were too far off he would step in and demonstrate full speed the entire movement giving a visual example to follow. Instructions with words often takes you away from fluid motion and power because you start thinking about the movement. This thinking hinders the fluidity and power of the punch.

@dagaffer2269 we never trained in that style that you mentioned (sitting on the floor)there are many styles of Silat and they probably banned Silat from MMA because of the lethal techniques, we have techniques to instantly kill our opponent by kicking or punching certain points on the body. We were explicitly told not to use these techniques EVER unless we were in a life threatening situation. For you I’d love to make an exception.

To my knowledge, Bruce wasn't upset that Jesse and another member left his school to open their own school but more so for coming back to Bruce school and saying that he and Jesse think that Bruce is holding back on certain moves which he isn't showing them. Bruce got pissed and confronted him that they don't know what they are talking about and accused both of them of trying to take students away to their school. If Bruce was training me and other for a number for free of years then one day said to us... I want you guys to call me sifu, why should that be a problem ? so it's okay for you to take a free lesson but you won't call Bruce sifu? Life is a balance, you can't keep taking and not giving.
