TikTok’s favourite trainspotter, Francis Bourgeois, is on a mission to get the world on board with the joy he finds in trains.
This time, he’s smashing goals with England midfielder Jesse Lingard - and trying to convince him that a DMU has the same appeal as a match day crowd.
Heading back to Jesse’s home turf of Warrington, and one of the busiest stations on the West Coast Main Line, it’s all aboard to get one of England’s biggest stars excited about trains.
In a touching moment, Jesse gives Francis some kind words as he breaks down over what he sees as backlash from the trainspottting community for allegedly not truly being a spotter.

I come from a railway family I’ve had Eurostar cab rides you name it he pisses our community off because he’s using his disability to get famous not too mention all rail enthusiasts have been bullied and they still didn’t get rich and famous and we all have our own sob stories but never got famous that’s what makes the hobby genuine

Trainspotter here, There are some genuinely horrible and manipulative people. Many I know try to keep to themselves because the wider community can be very toxic and they only talk to those they trust and are chill with. People hate him because of how big Francis has gotten making outsiders known to the hobby, they like to throw stuff mainly because they don't see him as genuine when really francis is just another person who likes trains and that's ok. I see this mainly in the older generation folk who are not liked by the younger generation. But then again there are problems with the younger generation taking it too far as well.

@@TheWkc19 do the older trainspotters realize they are biting the hands that feed? Rail fan demographics are legit almost exclusively pensioners. Do they want their hobby gone within a couple decades when they're all pushing daisies? Any self aware hobby would kill to be famous on tiktok if it meant a whole new generation would embrace what they spent their twilight years embracing. All the ad money in the world couldn't buy their hobby something as earnest and positive as a youngster encouraging folks his age to come out about their passions. Even a decade ago this type of passion was non-existent for folks in their 20s. It was a hobby you ditched the second you got into secondary school because you'd be relentlessly bullied by everyone. In an era where youthful earnestness is the key to an interest flourishing online, these elder trainspotters need to get a grip or get ready for their hobby to be bankrupt and dead.

Francis seems like the type of person who is just genuinely nice and somehow stumbled onto social media. In a sea of shallow “influencers” it’s really nice to see a guy this genuine. Stumbled lol… much like most other social media stars this guy far from stumbled, he has rich parents that helped fund his rise to celebrity status and exploited his disability to get the sympathy along the way!! He is playing a character, the passion for trains may be real but a lot of it is exaggerated and created for views!!! Why do you think so many of the successful KZbinrs nowadays aren’t the average kid with a camera type people like 10 years ago and are actually kids from privileged backgrounds? Hard to believe fellow trainspotters would not be grateful that an enthusiast like Francois has actually made what was once considered an ‘anorak’ pastime so interesting. The first video i ever saw for Francis was when he was at Brighton station seeing the Dick Mabbutt train and i genuinely thought it was just another meme video just messing about because of the funny name as well as thinking his enthusiasm was put on for the camera as well as the gopro thing too. But then when i watched more of his stuff, i realised it was nothing like that at all and he infact is a huge train enthusiast and his hobby and interest has led to him traveling to other places around the world, having his own book and getting his own mini series which is freaking awesome. I can confirm Francis is NOT faking his enthusiasm, as I have hundreds of photos and videos of me squealing with delight at trains, too. I have NO idea why.
