I think this was the video that got me to watch the show finally. Loved it. Changed how I thought of television as a means of media creation. Now I'm in creative writing courses on the way to a possible screenwriting career, mostly because of this show. @@_Rick___Grimes_ I'm glad they didn't, but I also wish he wasn't in seasons after the second one. It doesn't make sense that he wanted to keep selling meth after suffering such a huge loss due to drug use + getting clean + finding support in therapy. It was very uncharacteristically evil of him to try selling meth to people who were recovering especially after we saw that he genuinely respected those people. Idk maybe it is just season 3, I haven't watched the other ones yet, but the writing quality in that season declined drastically imo
@goatattack14902 жыл бұрын
@@seacrystal6189 you definitely jumped the shark. im going to not spill much but he not only doesn't go through with that plan but the unexpected part is such an integral part of Jesse's character arc through out the rest of the show, and especially that season
@seacrystal61892 жыл бұрын
@@goatattack1490 Yes, it is the central part of Jesse's later character arc. That's why I dislike him in the later seasons I liked the dynamic they had in the first two seasons; Walter wants to be in the drug business, while Jesse is forced into it. This is evident in my favourite episode, when Jesse got kicked out from his own house and had nowhere else to go but the RV. Jesse, just like many drug addicts irl, had no support from his environment. He tried to quit many times, but couldn't because he had nowhere else to go and no other places that would employ him. After Jane died, he was clean, calm and had enough money to start a new life But then, not only does he come back to the business, he also gets really power-hungry and tries to sabotage other peoples' recovery. He also starts getting into trouble with gangs, despite being terrified of powerful drug lords and always warning Walter to step back. Even before he was clean, he was fine being a small time drug dealer. It was always Walter who wanted to push the business further. Their roles being reversed felt... Off. It just didn't feel like the same character. I understand they did it because they wanted BrBa to be more action focused, but that's just not my cup of tea

Crazy to know that the original plan for Jesse was to kill him off in the first season. I always saw Jesse as a good person who never had good direction in life with crappy parents that seem good enough at face value but not really and with unrealistic expectations who gave up on him and tried desperately to replace him with their "ideal" child. He latched onto the first thing he felt like he was good at out of desperation for success and validation. Walter was an enabler who gave him false validation for his own selfish gain. The movie really helps further elaborates who he is as a person. The show also did a great job. Not gonna spoil for those who havent seen the movie yet. Him, Mike, and Saul are easily my favorite characters. Jesse being an extremely relatable character. With how quickly Jesse was able to learn and how loyal he was to people who showed any respect to him, he had a lot potential in life. Just no direction until later towards the end. I really liked the dynamic between Jesse and Mike. Mike for sure was needed for his character development.

i just love how strangely wholesome is that escene where walt puts his hat and glasses and then jesse does the same... they actually looked like father and son.

jesse's character development throughout the series is genius

The amount of times throughout the show I’ve wished Walt would just give him a hug is too many to count. Especially after the scene in Grilled where he shoots Tuco in the side and is clearly super distressed, I would’ve given anything for a wholesome moment where Walt is comforting him.

@@julesk2629 in season 5 I don't remember the episode but it's when he met Jessie with saul far out in the desert to convince him to leave town (right before the ep or scene where he was about to leave for Alaska and realized that Walt was the one who poisoned brock)

My all time favorite Jessie scene will forever be when he made the crackhead continue digging the hole he started
@SteelBallRun18902 жыл бұрын
In their latest cameo in Better Call Saul, Aaron's face certainly throws me off because he looks super old now, but nothing throws me off harder than his voice. His voice in earlier season was very teenager, young and a bit higher than his current voice. His voice now is what you would expect, he's an adult, he's old, so hearing him (plus his looks) be Young Jesse in the latest BCS episode is really funny.

3:03 This moment made me laugh cry despite the intensity of this episode. Jesse says something agreeable to an unhinged psycho, who immediately shuts him down, and Jesse's all like, "Yes sir. I know I'm garbage sir. Please don't hurt me sir".
