I remember as a much younger person that I gave money to someone with the promise of getting something in return which never came to be. I remember whining to my dad about it and he told me "if you're stupid enough give away your money on something that someone tells you you'll get later, then you'll just have to live with the outcome!" Something to that affect. Same with these prosperity preachers, if people are duped enough to give him their money based on a humanly promise, then they will have to live with the consequences! 80’s-Baby here: spent my first 20-years under these teachings. Rebelled in early 2000’s because Jesus DIDN’T do what these guys told me he would. Reading the Bible showed me the TRUE-God, & finishing this VERY familiar passage (& Jer.29) was a huge wake-up call! I didn’t WANT 70-years of captivity! I didn’t WANT invading-armies!!! But my life WAS showing the consequences of my willful rebellion! 😢 I finished Hab. 2:4. I read ON to Jer. 29:12-14. I chose to live according to God’s directives by faith. Amazing what happens when you live obediently to the directives the Creator established.

Also, if he's never had a deficit in 47 years/debt free since 1982, there is a slight problem. 1982 was 41 years ago. Was it a case that he had debt but no deficit for the prior 6 years? Seems intentionally misleading.

I agree it's unbiblical to say that "God sen(t) us to this planet," but Jeremiah 1:5 applies to Jeremiah. You can't just pull a verse out of the Bible and say it applies to everyone. Why does the Lord tell Jeremiah, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified you"? It's because as the Lord says, "I ordained you a prophet to the nations." Are we also ordained to be prophets to the nations? No, of course not. Also, this view is contradictory to the Protestant view of total depravity, and correct me if I'm wrong, but you're Presbyterian. If we're sanctified by God in the womb, then how are we born "vipers in diapers"?
